And news on a non-ultra SA6 that is a lot like the ultra for those of who missed out on the ultra... Kind of like a SA6 v2 that is eerily similar to the ultra?

No.

You said that with such finality. What about letting me down gently? So, basically, the SA6 is here to stay as it is?

Yes :p

Just got my SA6 today and oh boy this thing has reference level sound. I am loving it so far.

I also find it plenty resolving with very good neutral sound. Heard some saying it could be more resolving to be more worth the money, don't agree. Specially with discount price recently.

I have a Aür Audio Neon Pro arriving in a months time, will be a fun comparison to the SA6. Both are tuned very similar, just higher end from the ones I have talked with.

Tbh I doubt I will sell the SA6 even if the Neon Pro is better, going to review more stuff forward and the SA6 is a good reference IEM for tonality.

I might even more like the tuning of the SA6 than my Mest MKII.

Might give the SA6 a more trough review soon, kind of want another IEM I am waiting for to arrive first.
For me the more good a piece of gear is the harder it is to review, they deserve more than what I can get down in writing.

While I did ask for the Ultra before, for me its hard to understand what they lack in comparison. They have some extra air and a little more refined treble, while the bass has better mid bass warmth on the original. This might also go back to what I listen to the most, don't find the air to be a big factor. While the the 4k peak on the original is something I like and have in two other models. This give some good energy in most rock/metal music.

I have SA6 for two week's now and I'm considering my self for basshead, but it's look like SA6 has tamed my temper down, because I'm very happy with sound signature, bass include... My gear is Shure 846 se, LCD-X, LCD-3, LCD-2.

Had some good time by myself this morning, wife sleeps much longer than me in the weekends.

Warmed up my Feliks Audio Echo tube amp to listen to headphones, made a v60 with some fresh beans. Hair was still a little wet so didn't want to make the ZMF leather wet. Did plug my SA6 into the Echo, IEMs and tube amps are either hit or miss. This amp is very silent to be a OTL.

What struck me immediately was the thick and smooth sound. The original sound is very clear, detailed, neutral and well extended with fast transients.
Changing back and forth is like changing IEMs, moving over to a thick and slower sound. Very musical and fun and was a perfect thing this morning since I am rather tired from a cold week outside at work. Try it if you want something different with the SA6.
