Oh yea, you are right. I need to do some digging around because I thought there are a few people that make the cables in a custom sense.

or I could find one that has an XLR end (instead of the single 1/4 trs output) as the Stratus also has the 3 prong balanced dual output for each channel.

Doesn’t The stratus has 3 ohm out? and my speakers are 12 ohm average. Doesn’t seem that bad. Maybe I’m wrong.

If it's a sensitive speaker and a reasonable load to drive, then you'll probably be ok if you find or make the right cable.

The trouble areas you want to look out for are is the impedance and phase in the bass region and speaker sensitivity. For example, even though the Klipsch Forte III is '8 ohms compatible' and high sensitivity, according to Stereophile measurements there's a current hungry combination of -49 deg / 5 ohms @ 90 Hz.

Thankfully, my speakers don’t dip below 8 ohms. In the picture attached the solid line is the Impedance and the dashed is phase.

seems from the measurements a lot of the impedance is even closely averaging 14 ohms! even better! If I use the 3 ohm out I feel like that will help a lot. Plus I’m not doing this for a priority amp in my 2 ch. but ever since I sold my Line Magnetic 518iam amp, I’ve longed for a really 845/300B/2a3 sound from my speakers from time to time that my reference tube amp doesn’t do.

Not worried too much about tons of bass as I really like acoustic, Sinatra style or jazz that can de done without crazy earth shattering bass but still favor that tubey holographic sound that type of music synergizes a lot with.

First of all, thanks to Donald for the beautiful amplifier. Just received my DNA Stratus two days ago here are some pictures. The strange thing is the rectifier tube is the hottest out of them all. This is measure with my infrared imager after about 2 hours running with room temperature around 72F or 22C.

Will update the sound impression in about two weeks given the fact I also install the Unison usb upgrade on my Yggdrasil on the same day.

Should I assume this is the new V4 Stratus and the AN 0003 serial number stands for Audio Note output transformers? Forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed before.

Yes, this is the newer version with the Audio Note output transformer. I spoke to Donald I was in line for unit 2 not sure if he kept AN 0001 for himself or someone else already taken delivery of it.

That review above was the Demo Stratus V4 and not an official released one. He preordered a Stellaris after listening to it.
