You really think Sennheiser would cannibalize sales of the i600, which sells for more than twice the ie200, when the ie600 is getting good reviews?
And wait, there already is an ie500, which I was joking about as part of a new line.
Sennheiser, you need to get your naming conventions fixed. This is a mess.

A better question is what the heck is the ie400?
It's apparently been around a while, and i saw it advertised for $400. Where does it fit into the Grand Scheme of Things?
Can our resident Senn person explain?

Huh??? I'm just asking for the tips. Not interested in speculating in other topics. Leave me out of this.
Yes, both silicon and viscoelastic (memory foam) are the same sizes and variety.
There's room for both in the market. You really think Sennheiser would cannibalize sales of the i600, which sells for more than twice the ie200, when the ie600 is getting good reviews?

IE 100, IE 400 and IE 500 are pro market IEMs (tuned and built for stage use). If audiophiles like their tuning I won't get in the way of that, but in general they are flat so that the monitor engineer has a lot of runway to carve out the foldback mix for the performer. Build geometry is similar but material and cables and tips are different.

Thanks. So it's a parallel track, in which the frequency distribution graph is aimed at being horizontal?Yes, both silicon and viscoelastic (memory foam) are the same sizes and variety.

IE 100, IE 400 and IE 500 are pro market IEMs (tuned and built for stage use).
But IE400 & IE300 are very similar in tuning.
The IE500 also has too much bass to be called neutral-
These are not flat at all. Flat are a UERM or Primo 8

I don't listen with my eyes but even in crin's graphs, at around 6k to 7k there's a ~5dB difference. That's a lot, nevermind the difference in perception from back volumes, nozzle stem differences, etc.

When does the IE700 come out with IE900 in the HD600 marble finish?

I certainly don’t need these but for the price point I couldn’t resist. Purchased and shipped today, should be here Friday

My IE 200s just got delivered and the initial listening experience is very positive. The cable is a little thin and cheap feeling so a 4.4mm Balanced cable might be on my radar when Sennheiser releases them later this year but beyond that so far so good! They are super light and very comfortable.

Why this is compared to IE600 and not to IE300 in the first place being second in lineup? Does IE200 make IE300 obsolete? Looks like clickbait video to get ppl into thinking IE200 are almost the same thing at a fraction of the cost.... which probably is not the case like most times. Hope it's not just slightly less detailed version of IE600, because if there's not much more to IE600 in terms of sound quality then it makes them a total ripp-off and IE200 a steal, while IE300 like I said - obsolete. Actually that would be awesome, just not to those who already invested in IE300 and IE600
This new IE200 is also interesting in terms of pricing, cuz 149$/E only in theory is half the cost of IE300, as it is well known IE300 are on very frequent discounts at amazon for 130-150 euros at least here in Europe so both models will have same price. It begs some question is IE200 better (given some dare to compare them with IE600) or worse or different flavour to IE300? Or perhaps Amazon will set limited offers for IE200 something like 80-100$/E accordingly to what they're doing with IE300 price ?
But perhaps the most important question has Sennheiser finally fixed "no sound" issue common in this lineup of IEMs? Amazon IE300 reviews are still flooding with negative user reviews from people who bought them recently, but I've seen many of such user issues regarding IE600 and IE900 of course not to IE300 extend as it is most likely selling best of the bunch hence more users talking about it. Curious if they improved built quality in these new IE200...

Wondering how these compare to some other offerings in that price range, like The Dioko, S12 and maybe even the KATO.
