I would suggest you not to try. While it is not those typical thin and flimsy cables, my guess is once they tangle it would be hard to recover them...

For about a year I was content driving my D2000s from the E7.  On paper the E10 is more powerful so I presume it will work fine.  Fair warning: I eventually upgraded to the E9 and now I am trying to further upgrade.  These cans give you as much as you give them.

I don't have either the E10 or the D2000, but I think the E10 would be more than sufficient to drive the D2000's.

If you can increase your budget slightly you can significantly upgrade your amp to the O2 reference amp. You can either DIY for about $100.00 or buy one pre-made by JDS labs for $150.00. Very well worth the cost. This amp kills many much more expensive amps and it gives you exactly what you feed it. A very neutral amp.

Would Fiio E10 be sufficient to drive the D2000?

Yes. The D2000 is a pretty easy to drive can. I'd still look at the O2 Lee has been talking about in every thread..

I'm sure it's a great amp. Actually, I've been interested in buying one of these myself..

I'll post some impressions on it once I got it and had it for a while as well. I think it will be really good from what I'm been hearing. Would be a nice excuse to be rid of some old stuff...

Hey guys just received the D2000s from Electronic Expo yesterday and they sound pretty awesome. This is an upgrade from some Bose QC15s so its a really good one for me haha. I just had some questions for you guys.

1. The D5000s are still $399 on Electronics Expo and I was just wondering are the D5000s that much better than the D2000s to warrant the extra $200? If so how are they better?

2. If I do keep the D2000s, what is a sufficient amp that will be able to make it sound richer and fuller that is under $100. As of right now I am just running the D2000 from my Macbook Pro and itouch. This amp would be used at my desk the majority of the time. I have looked up the FiiO E10 & E11 and was wondering if there was a big difference between the 2? Also is there any mods that I should consider to the D2000 in terms of replacing the ear pads, cables, or possibly sending the to Lawton Audio to get them modified.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Might be a very nice item to add to the chain if you do not have a good soundcard/ DAC.

So I may have gotten the last pair of open-box D2000's from Electronics Expo, as all of a sudden (immediately after I purchased) they're no longer searchable on the website.

Does anyone have experience with the NuForce Icon-2?  It's a DAC/Headphone Amp/Speaker Amp, I hope it's powerful enough these more demanding headphones.

They'll most likely re-add them at a later date. It's happened before.

If you wore your D5000/D7000 walking down the street, would you look silly? I'm wondering how portable these are.

It sucks when you're addicted to the sound of the full-size cans & you also want to have your music on the go with you.
