I don't even own a desk lol.. but i guess you're right, if they aren't that big then why not. I've just always assumed desktop amps were much bigger. I don't have a desktop computer, my music collection is all on my laptop and zune. I kinda like going to each room of the house with my e7 and listening to music. I also enjoy the sunny days where i can sit outside and read a book while i listen to music. It's not really a portable rig in the sense where i take it out on the town, I use my iems for that. I should probably get to the point where i have both a desktop and portable amp. but i'm new to the hobby so im still researching.

Grab a E9 to match with your E7.

Problem solved.

I think I'm confused on what exactly the LA2000s were. I thought they were just D2000s with markl mod, D7000 cups, and upgraded wires...same as your second one. What else is different?

second one had d7k cups and belden wires.  the LA2000 has LA audio cups (slightly bigger) and jena labs cables. here is a link for LA audio

You have the LA lite and full modded version. The lite just has the cups and wire changed while the fully modded one has the new cups, wire, and the dampening mod performed.

I just ordered D2000s over at J&R Electornics for $200 new. Moving on from AD700 and Triplefiv10....man I don't know how I'm going to explain this to my girlfriend when she takes a look at the credit card bill lol. This will be the last headphone that I ever purchase

I know that my curiosity with headphones will always get the better of me and I will be cursed to keep buying them for years to come, and I've accepted that.

As far as the D2K and E5 goes, I'm satisfied with it enough so that I don't feel the need to go out and get a new amp immediately, but as soon as I have some spare cash I would like to upgrade. I wanted to experience the full potential that these headphones have.

I hope its actually true this time.....went from JVC RX700,CX500,  ATHM50, Triplefi v10,  AD700, to D2000

Are you satisfied with the Fiio E5 with D2000?

I didn't have to bargain at all. I guess that's just the MSRP of the product. I asked the guy for a price check because people on this forum were mentioning about it for a week now. It seems like a killer deal for a new headphone and they don't come by often
