If you know how to solder and can disassemble and reassemble the headphones without hurting them it can be fairly easy.

Yes on both questions. Have opened them several times for the markL mod and I have soldered some cables previously. Big thanks for this. Looking forward to this project. Just need to find the connector from somewhere.

Gp to vetco for the chassis mount connectors. Just search smc chassis connector in Google and vetco results should pop up.

I'm in Europe so hopefully I can find something nearer or with cheap shipping (China). Vetco charges $23,95 for international shipping =(

Would this one work you think?

Compared to the Vetco which I presume is this one

Yes, order a set of those. Those are the ones I use and they are great. Post pictures of the finished product when you're finished!

If anyone is thinking of ordering Replacement earpads from Chinese Ebay vendors. This is what you probably will be getting.

Ebay search "Replacement Ear Pads Cushion For AH D2000".

Bought them for some DIY earpad stuffing so we'll see how that works out.

D2000 originals to the left, Ebay replacement pads on the right. Not the original thickness which was a disappointment.

Ok stitching removed and first earpad stuffed. We are getting somewhere. Will try to put in more but it is tricky.

Original Denon D2000 pads to the left, DIY stuffed Ebay pads to the right.

The stuff I used. Some kind of fiberfilling. Put in a lot more than what's in the picture.

Hey hifi, awesome project you've got going on. I hope those mold around your ear better than the stockers, that would be an awesome modification if so.

Thanks. The fit and sound is about the same currently. Ebay pads somewhat denser/harder now than originals because of all the filling. Still not getting in as much as I'd like of the filling. Gonna give it another go, lets hope they don't crack =)

Can any UK members recommend a good place to get upgraded earpads for D2000s from? I'd rather use a UK vendor if possible, but would settle for a good US vendor. Furthermore has anyone tried multiple vendors' options?
