Hello everybody,
 
I feel happy to join you guys here, I have a question that haven't really found an answer, I have one D2000 stock (4 years old) and one barely new D5000 second hand (less than 100hours of burn), 
 
With the same play list, i did have to change the volume more often with the D5k than the D2k, do you have any suggestion for that  ?

well i dont actually know, but ill wager a guess and say its because they have different impedance, different sensitivity etc. what are you plugging them into?

Is it just me, or do the alpha pads look weird on the denons (square peg, round hole)? In person, do they look bad?

not that it really matters, but still...

 
 
I kinda agree, the Alpha's look a little interesting on any headphone... but the side profile looks really nice, so I wouldn't worry about it an just buy and enjoy them. Plus they are UBER comfy

The Alpha pads are very reasonably priced, only half the price of the Lawton angle pads. Not sure about the sound effect as I have not used the Lawton pads.

The comfort makes up for any "bulkiness" they add to the headphone in my view.  Alpha pads have been used by me on D2000, D5000, D7000, Q40, Pro900 - they are soft, seal well and feel as good as any pad could.
 
The Lawton pads are firmer but I feel they are overall as comfortable as the Alpha's for long term usage.

6. Sound signature similar to earphone Sony EX1000.

Get your self a Modded w1000x or W5000
 
The angeld driver of the W1000x combined with it's more linear sound sig after modding is wonderful for classical, I also hear the Kenwood KH1000 is another good one, or go open and get your self an HE 4 or DT 880 depending on your ampage

it is true that in the play list i have some tracks are mp3 and some are flac and wav , but, it is strange that with the D2K I don't really need to change the volume more often than with the D5k.
 
If i had to add or reduce the volume with the D2K , it was just for 1 or 2 db, with the D5k, it had to be 3 or 4 db. 
 
if there is anybody have these two models can test them please ?

That should work (the Dynamat kit).  Cotton to the pads increases the distance to the drivers, which on angle pads (like Denon stockers are) aid in soundstage a bit.  It adds comfort as well. 
 
Play with the cotton.  You also have other options - Alpha pads, Lawton angle pads.  The damping will give you the most improvement.
