What I really have come to like in particular of this album, is the mastering job they did.
Musically it's a nice spanish fusion like maybe many others, but when I heard it on the 9200's, all their excellent, careful musical and mixing work jumped at me!
Glad you like it

The playlist above also inspired me to go back to Rush's Moving Pictures, in honor of Neil Peart. Yeah, Peart's drums sound good on the 9200 :)
The previous album was slightly better.

Yup, Permanent Waves is a great album... just from dumb memory I think that the drums were recorded more carefully in Moving Pictures... gonna have to go listen

Those pads look almost exactly like a pair I got off of amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PPQGBBY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're actually a nice pair of pads and they have a fairly profound effect on the D9200 sound signature. Although it doesn't look like it in the pictures, these pads have that same rigid lining sewn into them that many of the Fostex pads also have. This increases the quantity of bass pretty significantly which in turn lessens the mid clarity. I can't remember how treble was affected. In other words, it turns the D9200 into a basshead can.

I personally found it a bit overbearing, but it's nice to have that option if I want it.
