Currently on the lookout for a second pair of headphones, the 9200s are great but can't wear them for extended periods or I get headaches. Where I am there's a decent deal on a TH900 PW and a Focal Radiance, or are they a bit too similar to the 9200? Could also get the Clear MG but I sold my OG clear due to being too fatiguing

Depends on your sensitivity.
I found Th900 more fatiguing than 9200, especially in the treble but it’s technically a super headphone with one if not best stage width and subbass.

Oh I should mention the headaches are from the headband, not the 9200 itself. I tried an aftermarket cover but no dice.
Have you tried the aftermarket pressure relief elements to be sticked below the headband?
I bought these but as my comfort is not Meze-like but still ok, I haven‘t even opened the box

Try to stretch the headband on top of some box or something over night/s. It would lower the clamping force and makes them more comfortable. This works although I have not had any comfort issues.

I assume it‘s not the clamping force at the side but the headband pressing onto the head.
I feel this too but in my case it‘s not as bad.
What I meant are these nuggets

maybe not the most beautiful solution but might work for some people

Stretching out the headband would probably exacerbate the issue, since it would lower the surface area of which the actual headband is in contact with the head. As mentioned any sort of additional surface contact with the head would more evenly redistribute the weight of the headphone

My D9200s are currently listed on eBay UK if anybody's interested. So far these are the headphones I've enjoyed and appreciated the most, so I'll probably regret selling them. At the moment I'm dabbling in high end open backs and might end up going all in (for me) and getting a set of Susvaras.

Maybe you will come back.
I have started with the Denons, went up to Susvara and Phi TC and now here I am with my 2nd Denons.
They won’t touch TOTL open planars but for the closed back use case like bedside I still love them

Here's a shot of my setup : PC Streacom DA2 > xDuoo XA-10 > Denon D9200 + Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin + balanced cable OCC silver + ROOMs Audio Line FS Pro :)

I love the D9200 so much

How would you describe the sound difference between the stock ear pads and the Dekoni?
A little warmer : a bit more bass, a bit less trebble, mids sounds about the same to my ears.
And more comfort, i'm not a fan of the tiny holes on the DX200 series pads.
