I love my 7000, it sounds fantastic and the design is a piece of art.

But since a few weeks, it's burning under my nails to try the Fostex TH-600.

At the moment, the Fostex isn't really known in Germany, so it could be difficult to hear one in the near future.

How does the D600 compare to the old D2000? Isn't the latter supposed to replace the former?

There may be others with more D600 head time, but in my experience, the D600 is more "V" shaped. The D2000 has a lusher, warmer sound where the D600 is leaner in the mids.

I personally did not like the D600 at all. Too much flabby mid bass and peaky treble for my tastes. The D2000 is a much better sounding headphone IMHO.

Personally, the new Denon series of headphones are a complete disaster. They sound absolutely garbage for the price. You can find them for less than half of what the MSRP is now, and I would assume they will continue to decline. They just don't stack up against the older D2K, D5K, and definitely not the D7K.

i dunno if i'd call the D2k lush and warm. it was v shaped, but very well balanced and with great sub-bass and sparkly treble. either way, the D2k is many times better than the D600. i've been considering buying back a pair of the old denon line sometime this year. maybe a d2k for fun and movies, or another d7k/th600/900.
