I have been thinking about the TH600, and was just about to post asking how it compares. I was a bit thrown by the only comparison thread I could find which compared the TH900 with the D5000 (http://www.head-fi.org/t/627403/review-fostex-th900-vs-denon-d5000)

Try the TH600, to my ears it's a clone of my D7000 and can be found for around $450.  Put some nice wood cups on it and you have the magic of a D7000!

I haven't seen them for much under $600, and if I don't soon, your feedback among others of the ENIGMAcoustics Dharma D1000 has me tempted to go double that budget, yikes!

I used to own the D7000 and I have listened to the TH600. IMO they are not even close. To me the D7000 is much better.

I own both and can say IMO that theyre both very good. The TH600 is a bit sharp in the ~7000kHz range when listening loud. I simply EQ the TH600 down a tad in that area and then you have a very clean detailed thumping headphone which is very very close to the D7000.
Some people have said that the treble spike comes from the metal cups.

I decided to go with the Foster TH-X00 on Massdrop, will be interesting to hear comparisons from those who have both.

Hey guys! I found a used pair, modded by Lawton, for roughly 800dollars. I torn between these, a new pair of Audeze EL-8 or a used pair of Audeze LCD XC´s for around 1200 dollars.
What would you have done?

Me?  I would have gone for the D7000's.  I've tried the XC (head to head in fact with my D7000) and felt after 30 minutes they had nothing to offer.  Can't say anything about the EL-8 since I haven't tried them.  But a Lawton modded D7000 is a wonderful headphone and if you take care of it is a classic in waiting that is worth whatever you pay for it.

it depends on the type of sound you want but regardless I personally will not get the EL-8. They are not even close to the other 2.
I would go with the Denon.

  Hi there,

Anyone know if the brainwavz HM5 pads fit the D7000?  I just got a pair and find the original earpads a little hot...thinking of the HM5 velours?  Any suggestions?  I tried looking on google and headfi for info on the HM5s with the D7000 but no luck.  Thanks

The stock pads are angled and therefore I believe they are intended to have pads that are that way.  So the HM5 pads, either velour (which may kill bass) or pleather are probably not optimal.  I'd go for the Lawton angle pads which are lambskin and incredibly comfortable and designed for this headphone.  Cost is $99 I believe (or were that price when I bought them).  Worth it for an amazing headphone.  Have those pads on both my LA7000 and MD5000.

Hey guys, I haven't been around because I was pretty successful in finding my dream headphones, the Denon D7000's. Unfortunately, the Biss2 snapped inside the Hexagon nut. Has anyone had any luck finding a place that sells the Biss2 or a substitute? I've used these headphones every day for years and I feel like I lost a part of me.

What amps are u guys using & how does it sound with them.

These AH-D7000 's are smooth as Butter with fiio E12 right now.

I run them out of vintage speaker amps.................incredible sound and the bass is limited only to what level you can tolerate.  Flip the loudness switch, turn up the tone control and hang on.
