No, I don't want to use AMTS, which is basically used for dampening, the KEF approach is to use the metamaterials to cancel the reflections in a tweeter for example. Much easier to do than across the FR spectrum, granted.Yes the difference is closed cup. In closed headphone you have to cancel it out.
With open no, so the sound fades away on a more natural manner that's probably why it sound more open as you hear that sound until it fades.
You want to use amts in back of the driver to make it sound even more open - which wont make the magic as there is no magic.

So I completely don't know what is your point. No, I don't want to use AMTS, which is basically used for dampening, the KEF approach is to use the metamaterials to cancel the reflections in a tweeter for example. Much easier to do than across the FR spectrum, granted.
Here amts is used for similar purposes, still you are looking for... I don't even know for what.
AMTS is used for filtering, Kef use Meta for cancelling. Not sure how else I can put it.So I completely don't know what is your point.

Amts is used for both. Watch Dan interview @ head fi YouTube channel HereAMTS is used for filtering, Kef use Meta for cancelling. Not sure how else I can put it.
I understand, but since there is a difference between the open and closed version ,it stands to reason it's not doing the cancelling part well enough.Amts is used for both. Watch Dan interview @ head fi YouTube channel Here

I run the Stealth/Expanse off the same system I use for my Susvara. It’s amazing how these scale up with improved power and current.I'm a soon-to-be Susvara owner, so naturally I've been reading the Sus thread and noticed more than 50% of the posts there are people raving about running the Sus on a speaker amp. I've been interested in the idea, I currently run the Oor in poweramp mode with HQP digital volume control so going to an actual power amp would not change much. The AHB2 for example has a 9.2 dB gain at it's lowest gain setting, which is only 3dB higher than the Oor so the "risk" would actually be quite similar.
However I started wondering, the insane current demands of the Stealth would make it quite suitable for running it on a speaker amp too. However I don't recall seeing a lot of power amp aficionado's in this thread. Has anyone tried the Stealth on a speaker amp and if so, what are your impressions?
This my current main Headphone System: 2013 27” iMac -> Moon Audio Black Dragon USB Cable -> Chord M-Scaler -> Wave High Fidelity Storm Reference Oyaide Dual BNC Cables -> Chord Hugo TT2 -> Danacable Sapphire Reference Mk.2 RCA Interconnect Cables -> Riviera AIC-10 with Telefunken G73-R Black Coated NOS Tubes-> iFi Audio Pro IESL -> Danacable Lazuli Nirvana -> Hifiman Susvara
I highly suggest people get the best quality cable they can get. Then you can get high quality adapters to use that cable with multiple headphones.

Your understanding is beyond me, sorry won't answer anymore.I understand, but since there is a difference between the open and closed version ,it stands to reason it's not doing the cancelling part well enough.

Thanks, I plan to upgrade my DAC later. Just not sure what I want. But awaiting my Zaul HM1 before I make a decision. But might wait until the new Chord DAC Drops and see how it compares.

AudioKey Reviews had a stellar review of the Stealth here. They review headphones in “summit-fi” systems.

You don’t see it here commonly because the Stealths don’t need speaker amp power to sound amazing. They need a high quality, good current delivery, and clean source.I'm a soon-to-be Susvara owner, so naturally I've been reading the Sus thread and noticed more than 50% of the posts there are people raving about running the Sus on a speaker amp. I’ve been listening to them with the Schiit Folkvangr recently. The combo shouldn’t work, but it sounds incredible.
IIRC, aren’t there also reports of people destroying their Susvaras with speaker amps?

Awesome setup indeed! an upgrade to the Dave sounds like it would make a lot of sense given your budget and your existing setup, but I can also understand waiting since it's quite old at this point. Glad to hear they sound amazing off such an amazing system! Thanks, I plan to upgrade my DAC later. Just not sure what I want. But awaiting my Zaul HM1 before I make a decision. Make no mistake it’s called sacrifice. You have to save for what you want and do with out something else. If I didn’t find a good deal used for the Nirvana I wouldn’t have that experience. Because I pulled from savings for DAC to get that.Awesome setup indeed! an upgrade to the Dave sounds like it would make a lot of sense given your budget and your existing setup, but I can also understand waiting since it's quite old at this point. For a long time I have exceptionally treated myself to a new playing partner for my Over Ears
And this also makes very good job with the Stealth
