Having built their business on designing and manufacturing moderately priced high-end headphones, it was only a matter of time before Dan Clark Audio would stage an assault on the higher end of the high-end market. Today's the day that happens, with the launch of the Dan Clark Audio Stealth. Key to the all-new Stealth's sound is a patent pending innovation called AMTS.
Dan Clark (founder and CEO of Dan Clark Audio) visited us at Head-Fi HQ to discuss the Dan Clark Audio Stealth and this very unique thing called AMTS that legendary headphone engineer Axel Grell (who was shown the technology) told me he thinks is "a big step ahead."
Of course, in the video I also talk about the Stealth's sound and take a look at headphone measurements of the Stealth (including headphone measurement comparisons) made in our measurement lab at Head-Fi HQ using the following equipment:
- Brüel & Kjær High-frequency Head and Torso Simulator (HATS) Type 5128
- Audio Precision APx555 Audio Analyzer
- Audio Precision APx1701 Transducer Test Interface
- Benchmark HPA4 Headphone Amplifier
- Herzan custom-designed acoustic & vibration isolation enclosure
