Some will laugh about it🙈....but in the end I have to be satisfied
Is just not a consumer product.....were it one it would probably cost twice as much😉

NOMAX

Ps.lol
I use RME all over my studio. Solid gear, nobody should laugh...they make stellar audio equipment. I've had my eye on this particular one myself. The headphone outputs seem to be very well thought out and beefy. The built in EQ, all the I/O, and the typical RME studio neutrality make this very attractive. Let me know how you like it!

Nothing to laugh about solid gear with shitload of features. I'm considering buying one of those RME combos as a second dac/adc but the price :(

That's nice gear though. Including parametric EQ and useful stuff like that.
The new version is also reasonably powerful

What I can say with the utmost certainty...is that this RME offers one the cleanest sound👍
(I would describe the performance as light-hearted)

Ps.Still have to find my way around with the operation 🙈 and make friends with it
Those who know me know it must simply work😎

It is a complicated device, as you said, not a straight consumer device - so the initial phase for getting used to is not instantaneous. It is one of the few devices that you need to check manual for understanding how you move around.

Also not just the outputs, but also the inputs have best in class level performance and has an RIAA mode for directly digitizing vinyl discs. They could easily put it in a much thicker and heavier aluminium case and sell for 4X the price, considering how much functionality it packs. And it achieves all these with simple, two channel ESS (or AKM in the normal Pro model) DACs - it is called no BS engineering.

I would take it over _any_ DAC / amp in the market, independent of the price.

Since you had the old and New version.
What's your take on the differences?

Is the upgrade worth it?

I don't think it is. You can get the previous Pro version (or the DAC version but half the power) and build the balanced cable adapter and have the same level quality. Less power but for Expanse/Stealth it is more than enough.
And that is called fanboy-ism. It's funny that on the Yamaha thread everyone is blaming the Adi-2 for the headphone sounding like crap.
I am not going into such useless audiophile discussions anymore.

PS: My ignore list grows.

Again that childish level of audiophilism that keeps vomiting its memorised vocabulary even when nobody is talking to them. "Amir, objective, subjective, I , I , I..." Then they cry in the middle of the forum "they...hurt...my...feelings of subjectivity...those that are happy with what they found, I hate them, they are nothing but fanboys, they keep attacking my subjectivity by 'not being a real audiophile and by having confident subjective decisions that they express openly, writing in these forums':cry::cry:"

Sounds like a lot of resentment and indoctrination. You also seem to be unable to accept that your opinions are just that, and not better than anyone else's. Hence my reply to your condescending post.
Ignoring everyone who disagrees just because you want your echo chamber to get even smaller, until all you hear is your own voice, is also not healthy.

Nah, when he gives his opinions everyone else thinks he is being combative and trying to fight them. His opinions are far mor insightful than people who simply think expensive source gear is magic.
