crinacle's IEM Ranking List

The T8iE is V-shaped and the EX1000 is bright neutral, both are dynamic systems and the T8iE excels as a general all-rounder while the EX1000 is less for general use and more for critical listening and monitoring.

As to whether or not one should own both, that's up to you.

Can you give some hints for Oriolus MK2 vs AK T8iE?
I saw the T8iE being better rated in your list, although I've read about Oriolus having a more tight, accurate and satisfying bass then T8iE, overall being a better IEM.
Is there anything specific which differentiate them?

I'm looking for a warm sound with deep, clean, impactfull bass, rich and full midrange, emotional and dense vocals, relaxed treble but with very good extension.

Thanks!

Based on your description Oriolus MK2 might be more suited. Based on memory, T8iE MKII has razor-sharp imaging and a very exciting sound, with a smallish soundstage. Oriolus MK2 fits your sound description, with an airy and big soundstage. If we're talking absolute detail levels T8iE might just edge the Oriolus, but for long listening I much prefer the latter.

The chief sound engineer for EX1000 (Mr Yamagishi) has moved on to form Ocharaku. The flat4 series share the same sound properties as EX1000.

correction:
yamagishi san was pre-ex series, he engineered the e484 ear bud and a few other wacky on ears and ear bud

Bandai san who is now with Sony Just ears was responsible for the ex series.

Yamagish-san left a long time before the EX

That would explain a lot. The Ocharakus are, to put it nicely, weird oddities that require a certain level of acquired taste to appreciate. The Justears on the other hand are mighty impressive if a little overpriced.

At the time, the EX1000 was probably most over-priced non-custom at whopping $500 (The universals people were discussing were still less than that in the bottom half hundreds, but I think Shure was quite exaggerated in pricing as well). Then came the FitEar hype...

the headphone park article is interesting esp wrt to where bandai ended up at (he started out as an ear mold/anatomy maker/researcher), the japan only variant of the just ear ciem is tuned to your own preferences in irl consultation with him.

The ones avaliable in asia at large are tuned for monitoring/listening/club but largely interpretations of sony's take of DF.

@crinacle

If you only could pick one as a fun, daily all arounder, which CIEM would you go with from anything in the 64 audio lineup or Zeus XR with Adel?

it was expensive but even then, when you consider the tech involved and that it was assembled in with parts sourced from japan, by small team of largely physically disabled artisans, it was ethical capitalism at its finest.

Could be the Xelento a better choice instead of the T8iE or the Oriolus will still win based on my preferences?

Hi Crinacle, nice to see the Jomo Flamenco still classed S and now the Lcdi4 + cypher upgraded to S too but I prefer them without. These 2 Iems are definitively the best I have listened. I don’t understand why the Zeus XRA always in this S section, definitively not my cup of tea compared to the flamenco. Great for the Lcdi4, I thought they were not at their good place on A or A+.
