One of my favourite pianists of the younger generation giving a wonderfully mature interpretation of Brahms 1.

Hector Ayala - Guarania
Any thoughts on the guitar sound?
It sounds quite clear for a cedar top. Is it a double-top?
For the most part. Double tops impart a unique tone...somewhat restricted in tonal colors compared to fan-braced, but they have a nice sense of evenness. I guess it's a trade-off! Overall, I prefer the sound of Hauser-based fan-braced guitars like my Randy Angella.Yes it is a double top with high grade cedar and ziricote back & sides. It also has a double back.
Do you like how it sounds? To me it also sounds clear, with a decent amount of low end.
It was literally a winning performance. Remember seeing him on tv, staying with a family in Leeds and practising.
Looks like he recently recorded both concertos with the same people.

Yeah, he recorded both recently. There are also some videos of him giving a recital in Korea. Some of the most electric Beethoven that I have seen live, especially the Appassionata.
Cheers, I will check it out.
Apparently, Appassionata was the only piece Chopin liked from Beethoven. He would play it over & over again but he didn't care for anything else he wrote.
