Chord Hugo

My 600 Ohm DT880's sound wonderful through the Hugo.

Thanks!  That is very helpful. I find the DT880 revealing and neutral and certainly not bass heavy (and perhaps slightly emphasized treble) -- imho.  do you find the Hugo complements the DT880? or does it overemphasize some of these characteristics? I know matching is not an exact science but any views would be much appreciated.

Listening to Spotify and Youtube via Hugo. I had no idea these formats could sound this good. Has anyone upgraded to the higher quality Spotify stream?

I will say I'm not comfortable with how close the Hugo is to my full setup - Naim DAC with XPS and Leben CS300xs.

It doesn't have the PRAT of the Naim or the drive/slam of the Leben, but it's very good and makes listening to new music much more accessible.

Yep, I find youtube can be great with my Hugo (of course it varies with quality, but always it's musical and pleasant).
I'm thinking I can live in a 100% streaming environment if need be.
As far as my earlier comments about the Hugo's amp, I just meant I like the sonics with full-size external amps better after trying the ones I own,
that's all. I'm not a portable listener, I just listen at my desk from a computer, not a phone (or tablet).
I *love* the Hugo in this mode, with layering, lack of glare, resolution, lack of fatigue, and nice bass.

My xperia does the same; is this a fault with the hugo?

Bluetooth works perfectly fine with my galaxy note 3, and HTC m8. So I would believe it's an Xperia issue more than a Hugo issue and it seem all reported bluetooth issue are with sonys.

Bluetooth worked OK with my 4th Gen iTouch but I wasnt happy with the result vs a wired connection - will try it with my Sony ZX1 and report back. Seriously annoyed that Japan-based resellers on Amazon wont deliver that Sony cable to Thailand.

YouTube runs slower and broken up when listening through the Hugo.  It can be annoying, but who needs it as I have other sources to enjoy.  Must be my older computer.
I also referred to a problem with the hugo causing the computer to freeze for a time when switching to 48, 96 or 192 tracks on page 374.   Any thoughts?

Hello,

So the UK AC Adapter is:
Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 0.18A
Output: 12V===0.5A

This US AC Adapter i have is:
Input: 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 0.8A
Output 12v===1.5A

Will the US AC Adapter short-curcuit my Chord Hugo?

I live in the US.

Thanks!

You need to give us more information.  How are you connecting to the Hugo?  If USB and HD usb port (since you are playing Hi Rez files), what are you using for a device driver?  I see that Chord only goes as far as Vista and up for drivers, not XP.

Yes, I believe that the Hugo brings out the best qualities of the DT880 - very smooth across all frequencies. Highly recommended.
