perhaps you're buffering before playback?

Even bigger buffer!

If you’re streaming Tidal (or Qobuz for that matter) in Audirvana and have buffering enabled you won’t experience drop outs because the stream is cached within the Audirvana app...

Hey @joe28

Rather than sending the usual beta feedback over email (as I’ve done many times before) I wanted to post my latest feedback on this forum.

This latest 1.8 beta is working flawlessly!!!

Today was the first day of continuous use where I have not experienced a single (even minute) issue with Poly.

I experienced:

Gapless playback.
No dropouts.
No stuttering.
No errors.
All hi-res artwork loading.
All metadata and album indexing spot on.
Control centre/Apple Watch controls where fast, accurate and responsive.

This is all using the iPhone’s hotspot.

I love the new Night (dark) mode and it looks great on iPhone X.

I also tried to deliberately crash Glider by quickly skipping tracks, making fast selections etc but all was very stable!

Thank you (and the team) for all the great work. It’s a great example of how embracing and working with your users can yield amazing results (on top of the incredible dedication of the Glider team).

Chord should be endorsing (or at least recommending) Glider as the must have app for MojoPloy.

If anyone is using MojoPoly on an iOS device then GET GLIDER. If you are using the beta and have not purchased the full version then please do so and support the great work Joe and his team are doing.

Thanks again!

I don’t believe the free case is available in the UK now either. I bought my Poly in the UK 2 weeks ago, and there was no voucher for a free case included

The retailer keeps the voucher and should give you one when you buy the poly.

Contact your retailer and ask for the poly free case voucher, as the retailer keeps them and should hand one over to you on purchase.

Thats what happened to me, i bought the poly and was told it comes with a free voucher for the case, I opened the box and it wasnt there so I emailed them and a code was sent with a link to a website to input the code.

care to share your opinion on this?

I am not tech savvy so I rely on opinions of others which I have found to be helpful. thanks!

@Peter Hyatt

I am far from an expert as well. My thinking is that Chord knows what works best for their DAC and since Rob Watts has designed a rather unique approach to D to A conversion using their own proprietary firmware in an FPGA, they would know best what to do with an incoming sample. My guess is that they upsample internally but @Rob Watts may be willing to comment on this and your upsampling question.

Here are some links to discussions of upsampling. In general I let the DAC decide, but it is possible that Audirvana can upsample better than some DACs. So the bottom line, aside from buying another DAC, is try it and see which sounds better (eg with and without upsampling). I have yet to hear a difference but then I am using good sources and excellent software and DACs as you probably are too. I'd be interested to hear (read) Chord's take on this.

I agree with pretty much everything listed above- I have no issues with Glider whatsoever.
The only annoyance is having to wipe and reinstall Glider again and again because I am using a beta version and Testflight apparently limits app usage before you have to wait. Reinstalling the app is a quick and easy, yet annoying solution:D

Joe says that if you purchase through the test flight program there is actually no charge so just purchase the test version and you will have unlimited use.

You can upgrade the beta- and you’re not actually charged for it. This is so beta testers can test payment processes without being out of pocket.

After doing the ‘fake’ payment, just go through the ‘restore purchases’ option every time you install a new beta!

I purchased Glider a long time ago to support Joe and his team. The TestFlight versions (ie betas) have a usage limit of 10 minutes at a time.

Oh, I see what you guys mean. The upgrade is actually free- wasn’t aware of that.

That’s not quite right. When you’re participating in the beta, any in-app purchased are pretend, so you just choose the purchase or redeem option and you won’t be charged
