After we received multiple reports, we've had to go through and edit or remove several posts that veered off from the Poly and became personal and heated. We ask that posts be about the Poly rather than each other. Please remember that our posting guidelines do not permit comments about both individuals and groups of people. We ask that you please keep the discussion about the gear.

Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding while we cleaned the thread. We greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!!!

Disagree. Roon is very stable for me, wether i play TIDAL 16/44 or anything higher up to DSD256. So, it's not a "poly"-issue. It may be an issue isolated on/in YOUR poly, maybe in combination with your network. Please don't generalize your issues.

I popped into my dealer between meetings today. We spoke about Poly. I asked if he used it personally (rather than just selling it) He said the shop uses Poly solely as a Roon end point, and it has been excellent.
It was playing as I walked in
I haven't tried Roon yet. I probably need to understand it better first.

OK, time for a thread summary for the latecomers to the excitement.

First the facts:

I) Poly works for some people
2) Poly doesn't work for some people
3) Poly doesn't have an App yet, so operation can be awkward
4) Chord will make FW releases to fix bugs
5) Chord have said there is an incompatibility between Poly and some Mojos. They are introducing a HW fix for Poly

Now, how to make everything rosy again:

1) People stop repeating "My one works, it must ne your fault" and "Mine doesn't work, yours must be broken too"
2) Chord explain clearly what they are doing about replacing incompatible Polys
3) Chord publish a "known Issues" list
3) Chord provide as accurate a roadmap as possible for FW updates and then keep us informed on progress
4) Chord acknowledge they got the launch wrong and that there are a number of unhappy customers. An App should have been available, and more beta testing done.
5) We start being nice to each other (yes, that's a stretch goal)

There, simple isn't it?

Correct. Not all good and not all bad. With some (reasonable) time hopefully all good. I do believe Chord will spend more time in full beta/app development in the future for new devices. For me more good than bad. BT/Airplay no problem. USUALLY Poly turns on with Mojo (90%). And the App will be for more convenience. Yes, there were delays in release, free cases unfulfilled outside of UK (best I can tell) but those issues will be forgotten over time and really only felt by us early adopters that often get caught with the bleeding edge.

Just noting that Poly works great for me when I can get it to turn on. Normally this takes a few power cycles of the Mojo. Occasionally I'll get lucky and it will turn on immediately while other times I have to plug it in to a charger for a second to convince it to power up. Bought my Mojo from Moon Audio in Oct 2016. Looking forward to a fix for this issue as otherwise Poly has been great. Is there anything we need to do now to register for a replacement?

I have had the exact issue. I almost always have to plug it in to have the blue light flash and then put it into access point mode to get the blue and green light flashing to use the wifi to play the sd card. The next day I have to go through this again. I hope the go figure app and/or firmware updates fix this. Does anyone else have this issue?

BTW the sound quality from the sd card or tidal is outstanding. An the ease of using this portably (once I get it connecting) is a joy.

That’s fantastic news. So hopefully when Chord replaces all the defective Polys out there people like will be able to use Roon

My biggest concern is that there has been a HW revision but we don't know if we will be buying the old or new version.

Also, if we have an old version what is the replacement policy?

Could someone from Chord provide some guidance please? I think this info would make people a lot more confident in ordering.

im getting ready to upgrade glider to the unlimited version and am looking for an sd card, im thinking of getting a 200gb with a read speed of 90mb or a 256gb with a 100mb read speed. do you guys think a difference of 10mb really makes that much of a difference ( oh yeah is also a $50 difference. which one would you guys pick

I've got the Sandisk with 90mb speed and it works just fine.

Card speed does not seem to be a limiting factor. I have both, using CD quality ALAC files and they work fine. 8000 songs index initially in about 4 minutes, and the database is instantly recognized by Glider with no issues on startup.

Any update on .aiff support over DLNA?

Once the official app is out and we play tracks from MicroSD, only using smartphone for Bluetooth controls, will .aiff tracks play fine?

50% of my music library is .aiff - the highest format track available for purchase from Beatport, a well known EDM online music store. This is very important to me.

Those could easily be converted by XLD or something to ALAC and still be lossless. I archive everything as AIFF but used ALAC for the SD card do get about double on there. No difference in sound.
