Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

the dropouts can be alleviated with a really good WiFi network and some channel configuration to reduce collisions with neighboring networks, but overall, I'd not buy one even for $1K for WiFi use. It works great as an Ethernet DAC/amp, though
so it was really not an issue, it was hugo2 and 2go for 1k

What i meant is that the combo Hugo 2 + 2go is a very nice Ethernet streamer/DAC/amp, but a frustrating WiFi one. If you put it on your desk plugged into Ethernet, you'll be really happy. If you use it on WiFi, it's a constant frustration unless your network is just right. With mine, if I sit on a particular chair on a particular location in my patio, I can listen through WiFi fairly reliably. But it has to be right there, moving a bit may not work. OTOH, I've used the combo as a Ethernet streamer/DAC when one of my bigger Linn rigs failed, and it was quite nice.

no, i actually dont know of this product im actually about to blindbuy a hugo 2 2go but the seller says the 2go suffers a wirelessdropout, its only 1k usd for both so not bad for blindbuy
I had a wifi dropout issue with my old Orbi system when switching from one WAP to another. Once I replaced it with an Asus XT8 system, nary a dropout!

That sounds dodgy to be honest. If the seller is someone who suddenly put it up for sale after not posting on a forum for a few years, then it's a hacked account. Only buy using regular Paypal. If they ask for "Friends and Family" or any other non-recoverable payment method, then it's a scam.

But as other people have said, the reliability of the wifi requires that you have good wifi in your home to begin with. Audio streaming doesn't like interruptions, unlike any other, regular protocol.

I've been searching through this thread and don't see a consensus on mesh networks. Does the 2go play nice with them now or is it system-dependent? If anyone here has the experience to comment, I'm in the process of building out a Ubiquiti stack with at least three antennas to cover my property.

I've had mixed results with Ubiquiti/Unifi gear and 2go. I had a partial mesh at some point, now I have several UniFi APs all wired to a UDM. 2go is very sensitive to exact position, even just a few meters from an AP. I think that locking the 2go to a specific AP may help -- I always use my 2go from the same chair in my patio, so I can choose the AP with best signal for that location.

Thank you.

I'm building out something similar over the next few days. I'd likely use my 2go primarily in the house, which would likely be covered by a single AP. Tying it to that one is easy enough.

Has been working fine with my Google Nest WiFi Pro set up (base station + 1 node).

I have run the 2Yu on both eero and Orbi mesh systems. For the first year or two of ownership I had frequent drop outs. I'm currently on Orbi, and updated to the new firmware (2Yu) like 6 months to a year ago and it's quite good now (I have an Orbi system). I can walk around the house from node to node and it works well. Note: there is still the occasional dropout, but it went from being unusable, to an infrequent minor annoyance (It will just quickly jump to the next song). Further, I don't experience any dropouts, even those that are infrequent, if I stay in one zone.

I've had great success with the Asus XT8 success, but it only has 2 nodes. Each of those nodes do provide a a broad area. My house is about 2,400 sq. ft. Easy coverage throughout the house and outside yard as well.

I have Ubiquiti and have not had any issues using it around my house across multiple APs for what it's worth.

I have been using Tp-link's Omada system in my house with EAP access points. I still get occasional drop-outs as well with my Chord hugo2go. I have done extensive troubleshooting with it and couldn't seem to find the best solution, even though it has the best wifi coverage and I have fast internet connection, dropouts still happen. Luckily, my rooms have ethernet ports and my 2go is now hardwired all the time (I use mine as a desktop DAC anyway), no more dropouts.

I believe that the difference in regions is that in other (larger) regions there is a local Chord distributor that can somehow perform the firmware update if customers send in their unit physically
2go would not update, despite multiple attempts. I contacted a local US distributor (Soundorg), who has been great and has helped out with other chord device issues. They tried but also could not update the firmware, despite conversations directly with Chord. My 2go is now off to Chord to try to update.

I'm also having difficulties updating my just purchased 2go from v1.5.7 to v1.6.0..., it looks like it completed the update process but shows 1.5.7 after multiple attemtps.
Sad that this did not went as smoothly as my Poly..
