Here is one that gets good feedback. Would love to try it. It's the Bosshifi B8.

I do have this one for a few days. It's for me the 'portable' Fostex T50RP. Details of the sound is similar to the T60RP also. It's amazing how close this can is to the Fostex Planars. Very clear and just very very good.

I just got the Neweer Lyxpro/Marantz/ISK clone from amazon for use as a gaming headset; Definitely planning on Slater's mod to use with a boompro! My question is: Are there any recommended pads that will make it comfortable for long sessions?

What do you find uncomfortable with the stock pads? I find them really comfortable and I think it might be bad for the sound sig to change them.

I haven't worn them for that long, admittedly, I was just wondering what other people did with them. They're gonna be primarily used for gaming so I'm not too bothered about sound sig, I just want to be able to wear them for 2+ hours at a time which I can't do with my current pair (Logi UE6000s which have pleather cups) without my ears getting quite warm and some soreness around them. I'll give them a longer test and see how it goes

Those are the preferred thicker pads. There is another variant that has thinner pads that people usually complain about. I find the ones on the Neewer very comfortable...as much as any headphone can be for me.

I think I might get a an hour of "me Time" tonight so I thought I could measure some chi-fi headphones. Sadly only fr response since I've yet to figure out how to get proper waterfall, distortion etc measurements.

I could do takstar pro80&hi2050
-superlux hd681
-msur n350 and n550(slightly modded)
- isk mdh9000 I did allready but I can re-measure and get something else in the same graph.

And I could add a comparative graph with senn hd800, akg 701, aq Nighthawk c and so on. Check My profile and signature, those are not perfectly up to date though.

So what would you like to see measured?

Here is brainwavz hm5 and hm100. Technically asian since both are taiwanese yoga rebrands.

Just realized ibasso sr1 is chi-fi headphone, not a cheap one though at $499. But like many chi-fi it is actually good value. Sr1 has become one of My favorite headphones. Some people say it has dynamics comparable to focal utopia. . I don't know about that but it does make every headphone I've ever heard sound "lazy"in a way...dull even. True totl performance at a price that is a fraction of the price mainstream brands charge these days.

I can think of two more brands that did impress me - Somic and JTS.

As for planars - there is always Fostex.
There is only one stable planar: Fostex.
