Hey guys, I have an old DACmini with fixed output. I read that some units had an optional variable output which would come handy for me to use the mini with a set of powered speakers. Does anyone know how the variable output mod was done?

Hey guys, I have an old DACmini with fixed output. I read that some units had an optional variable output which would come handy for me to use the mini with a set of powered speakers. Does anyone know how the variable output mod was done?

The mod for variable output was done at the factory (for which IIRC, they charged an extra $100). Not sure exactly what it involved, but it's definitely not as simple as opening up the unit and changing a jumper.
