I forgot about empire ears EVR, this is comparable to the evr too. Iirc the highs on yb04 is superior. The vocals on EVR is just a tad bit fuller than yb04.

Take your time, you can include this in your YB04 tour review. Looking forwards to taht. :beerchug::beerchug:

... the Cayin YB04 is dynamic and there’s just enough body and smoothness in the mids to present everything with a musical touch which is not to be mistaken for warmth. The YB04 isn’t cold sounding at all, but it surely isn’t warm sounding either. It’s musically neutral, that’s the description that suits it best in my opinion.

Lieven had nailed it once again, he always read our (Cayin) mind. maybe that's because he shared the same audiophile spirit with our Engineers. :beerchug:

Check out the YB04 review at Headfonia, fleshly online today, and find out how Lieven buildup his impression after hearing YB04 from N6ii, SP1000 and LP6 in past two months.

So it looks like the YB-04 price just dropped from $500 to $400.
At least that's what I'm seeing on Amazon and MusicTeck.
499 is already a good price for Yb04 tbh, 399 is kinda a bargain for reference tuning that can be musical as yb04.

Damn I didn't realize anyone around here listened to Flowdan, especially with reference iems lol.

What is your definition of "reference" iem?

Just based on impressions of yb-04 having a reference sound/tuning. Mid/high/vocal focus, flat bass, analytical sound, etc.

Man, I really should have signed up for this tour...

That was a reason I asked, people have different definitions when it comes to describing the sound, and YB04 does NOT have an analytical reference sound  I don't have my review up yet, and I suggest to read impressions from headfonics and headfonia more experienced guys who described the sound of YB04 (more neutral, natural, smooth, etc).

Exactly, in my review I the first Pros in the list was “Reference yet very musical and engaging tuning, not analytical”, also I think the YB04 has outstanding transparency, clarity and very good tonal balance which for me are three of the main items for reference.

my title itself musical reference tuning. It is nowhere analytical as er4sr. The bass hits but not hard enough for basshead for sure.

I am in possession of the Cayin tour kit at this moment. So far so good. Really enjoy the smooth sound of the N6ii so far. My ears can not tolerate upper peaks, so this is a very pleasant time so far with the T01 motherboard.

I have not listened to the YB04 as of yet. I have the EE tour kit now as well. Oh shucks, makes for a good comparison. More to come.

cheers.
