Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

My RU7 is not outputting sound to either the 3.5 or 4.4mm jack. I have reason to believe it is the output circuits as my phone software recognizes the RU7 and the RU7 shows corresponding correct bit rates to the media played. Already tried multiple IEMs, USB cables, etc. and the problem is the RU7. My backup DAC is working okay.

Is there any method to resetting the unit or is it likely going back to my dealer or directly to Cayin?
If it was purchased within one year, the best first step is to contact your local dealer, they'll assist you with the repair process.

If it’s outside the warranty period, no worries, you can send it back to us directly for repair. I’ll PM you with the instructions on how to proceed.

AFAIK, the RU7 does not have the "reset" mechanism, I think you have to send the device back to Cayin

Good news. Musicteck suggested I hook the unit up to my notebook and sure enough that worked.

Turns out somehow, after working brilliantly for a long period of time, the USB output setting on the iphone must have gone awry. Removed the USB devices in sounds and haptics, plugged the unit back in, and everything was back to normal. Phew.

Thanks for Gold Fox (Cayin) and Musicteck for helping out with troubleshooting.

I have gone from the Holo Spring 2 KTE + M.A.S.S.-Kobo 433 to the Hidizs S9 PRO Plus(*) and am enjoying the music more than ever. Even sonic differences between the headphones that I currently have on hand(**) seem to sound more distinct/appreciable with the little Hidizs(!).

What is happening???

It has gotten to the point where, even though I have the Holo May KTE on order, I have less and less desire to go back to a pricey "big rig". I prefer the simplicity and comparatively [much] greater "bang-for-the-buck" performance of the dongle.

there is a lot of mental "weight" in having more and more "things" just to have them. I'm curious what you're using now?

My Cayin RU7 works great with my Fiio JM21 using the Cayin USBC cable, but when I connect the RU7 to my Iphone 14 plus with the Cayin lightning cable I am getting interrupted sound, it starts and stops continuously. Is there a known issue of use with these iphones and RU7.

Might be a problem with the limited power of the Apple Lightning port.
Mine is working fine with iPhone 13 and original Cayin L2C adapter, but I'm using IEMs only, so the power draw is low.

Can you try to set the DSD conversion to a lower value? This should draw less power. I'm using DSD128 atm.
You can also try the Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (if you have it), which allows to connect an external power supply.
