And.... you know it!

time for the N8 ——II
We'll see! Heard from a couple people who demoed in shop said it's a real departure from the n8 sound signature. Waiting for more impressions before I pull the trigger.

Wonderful to hear that ! Could you tell us what makes N8 stand out from rest of your collection (all of them in your signature is TOTL) ?

Don't get me wrong. all of the TOTL daps I've have own sound great for their respective technology. I never tried a korg nutube dap before and decided to give it a try and picked up a used N8. The sound coming out of the N8 is amazing especially the tube output. What I'm going to say will not be sny different than @jmills8 said at the first few pages of this thread. The sound is just so dynamic and warm with great technicalities. It kept me listening for almost 3 hrs straight and i don't usually listen that long. The stage is wide and timbre is on point and cymbals and instrumentsjust pops out at you. The 2 daps that give me the wow factor are the LP6TI AE and N8. Like i said my impressions is the same as @jmills8 so i won't elaborate too much. We'll see what N8ii bring to the table in the next few weeks. Maybe that will be my third favorite dap! 👍

I'm loving my N8. I demoed it next to an SP1000, SP2000 and M17 and I preferred it. The A&K were brighter which for me saturated the highs too much. the M17 I would consider if I were using headphones. But the N8 Balanced was warmer, had more room to breathe, and still had all the detail I could ask for. Really looking forward to the N8ii :)

I like the 4.4mm balanced output best as well on the N8 BB. My concern is I am not sure the N8ii will be better in balanced SS operation. I am sure Alex will let us know.

I don't have an N8 yet but I'm considering getting one. Noob question but just want to confirm that I can still use the 4.4 connection in tube mode, although it will play SE?

On the 4.4 you only have solid state, no tubes. You can use the tubes only on 3.5
