@Andykong im looking to change out my 400gb SanDisk extreme for a 1tb card. Are any of the Samsung / lexar cards considered compatible?

A big 'Thank You' to those who mentioned the possible problem with Extreme Pro SanDisk cards, just got the return code for returning my 512GB Extreme Pro card & I've bought an Ultra 512GB instead. I was about to open the SanDisk EP card, phew......

A certain well known online store is still running the promotion of these SanDisk cards so the 512GB Ultra still costs £69 (it was an outrageous price when it first came out).

At the risk of repeating myself, I deliberately haven't upgraded my Firmware since I purchased my N8 BB and it's running without any issues. I would love a quick search option for locating an album but otherwise I have no other requests, the N8 BB is wonderfully compatible with my Utopias + OIDIO cable. I understand that other N8 users might well have other wishes but those who think the SP2000 is without problems should have a look at the thread on this website

A question about cables. The N8 comes with a charging/data cable, can I buy a charging/data cable with USB C at both ends?

I have been helping the world economy and upgraded my laptop to the new Dell XPS 17 which has 4 x Thunderbolt 3 USB C ports and it would be great to be able to stop using the adapter.

The Dell XPS has a 130 watt charger which can use any of the 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, could I charge my N8 BB via one of these Thunderbolt ports using either a 60 watt or 100 watt Thunderbolt 3 cable (Belkin make a 0.8m cable that has good reviews).

PS: The new Dell XPS 17 is incredible with 4K screen with virtually no bezels including at the bottom of the screen. Love the carbon fibre surface, i7 10th gen processor, RTX 2060 NVidia graphics card, 1TB SSD, 16GB 2933 memory, great keyboard. I have a gaming desktop so 60Hz screen refresh rate and mid range graphics card works for me.

And I know it's your job to participate in this N8 thread but thanks for doing so.

Sound was not deep nor enough power. EQ horrible , battery below average.

Actually I am curious that you mentioned SP2000 does not have enough power compared to your other DAPs. However, I see you are even using an external amp (eg Romi amp) with your devices for headphones. Wouldn't those DAPs need not have to connect to an external amp if their build in one is so good?

SO2000 had issues with TH900 , with Final Audio D8000 Pro planar loves power.

Sure, I understand the Sp2000 part lacking to run headphones.
What I don't is that why need an external amp for your DAPs to run your headphone? This puts the other DAPs equally weak since you must have added the external amp as you must find something lacking in them.

I can second this. I listen with another DAP that would drive my Focal Stellia with ease BUT it sounds even a tic „better“ with an external portable amp. You don’t „need“ it, particularly for such an easy to drive headphone like mine, but with additional power it shines even more.

I've successfully downgraded by Cayin N8 BB to firmware 2.5. I'm finally having a glorious experience again, no longer do I need to use Hiby Link exclusively to control my music. 2.5 is snappy and provides excellent sound quality. The solid state balanced output especially stands apart from the rest.

I never upgraded FW all is going great. I just transfer music and its in the dap no scanning needed.

I thought cayin didn't change SQ through fw updates? @Andykong?
