just going by my hearing , playing the same track on Neutron and Only I music apps. the Only I has a much more open , clear , wider sound. maybe it has to do with Eqing.
An update on my battery drain issue-- last night I left the player out with the wifi and bluetooth off only this time I unplugged my headphones. When I woke up in the morning the battery was on the same percent as it was when I went to bed so I think having my headphones plugged in the night before may have been the problem.

Very funny. In all seriousness though I don't think any current goes in to the DAP but I wonder if having them plugged in activates one of the processes in the DAP which is what was causing the battery drain the other day. If you have an alternate (serious) explanation for what was causing the battery drain the other day please skip the mockery and share it with me.
I couldn't get UAPP working with the N6ii and the "HiRes" driver, so I'm not sure if the UAPP HiRes driver supports the N6ii yet.
Anyway you need to select the HiRes driver and ensure that bit perfect mode is enabled, that should get you up and running with UAPP playing DSD's without re-sampling.
Or just play your HiRes stuff in the Cayin Music app which does a very good job of playing DSD's even in an ISO format.

I'm pressuming you mean Onkyo music app pal. I love onkyo music and its touch eq but it seems to to use androids audio stack for me on N6ii, M11, R6Pro, DX220.
I'm starting to wonder if maybe that first night-- where it dropped 15% in 7 hours overnight in idle-- was a fluke or just a result of some initializing processes of a new DAP. I've had it in idle with my earphones plugged in for the last 3 hours and the battery life has not dropped 1%.
