So... A Black Board in a raw Titanium coloured body... Not that much of an issue to me but one would have thought that Cayin would at least match the colour with their new Ti N6ii DAP as a special Version.
There is the flip side obviously, if the Board was Ti coloured then all the original N6ii owners would have a Ti colored Board in their Black N6ii's.

If you buy the Ti version the R01 is Ti itself. If you buy it separately it is black. That is my understanding

Tbh I that case they could also have spent resources to invent a new R2R DAP without the Module space restrictions.
The whole point of modules was to give more options and money spend incentives to buyers of the original N6ii.
If the Module isn't available to those, there was no need for a module to begin with.

I would have been really pissed if I had bought the N6ii this month as I intended to, only the Cayin price hike in germany kept me from doing so.
With some luck it might only cost 2k here, but probably more along the lines of 2.4k
Sorry, I just corrected myself above. R01 still available for a separate sale, just without the Ti chassis.

Yes, this is correct. So based off the number supplied by Andy and Liang, there will be 600 Ti N6ii, and 400 R01 from the first batch.

Liang said more R01 will be made when they get more resistors, so all good!

My friend, can you delete your previous post to avoid further confusion ?

The SRP of N6ii Titanium Limited Edition is US$1899, SRP of R01 is US$619. Both item will be available by early June 2021.

The R01 is the final Audio Motherboard in N6ii family. However we are working on a new product to continue the Audio Motherboard concept. It is something completely new to Cayin so probably will take some time before we can deliver it to the market.

Detail of N6ii-R2R Titanium Limited Edition will be provided later (TBC ....)
Will you also continue R2R technology in future products?
Ever since the Hifiman R2R2000 I was hoping for others to create mobile R2R solutions als well.

This today was the best DAP announcement in years!

Does this mean that the R01 Board can be used via Pre as it doesn't have a LO? Anyone see any negatives to this being done via a C9?

Yes, so it seems.

I have the experience of using the pre mode with various sources, in particular with Hugo 2 which does not have a true LO. So far so good.

Tbh 90% have no true line out even if the Manual claims it to be.
Not 100% sure but I guess the A02 offers true line out.

Oh yes, A02 is for sure true LO; that's what it is designed for after all. Agree that all the others seem fuzzy.

N6II Ftw! Looking forward for a motherboard, even after 2 years this dap still stands it’s ground, heck, there’s even daps released last year that wishes to have n6II hardware capabilities and interfaces! So excited! At last I will try an r2r implementation!!! :)

I can only speak for Cayin DAPs:

N3Pro:
3.5mm Line Out: Dedicated
4.4mm Line Out: Shared with Phone output

N8:
3.5mm Line Out: Dedicated
4.4mm Line Out: Dedicated

A01:
3.5mm Line Out: Dedicated
4.4mm Line Out: Shared with Phone output

T01
3.5mm Line Out: Dedicated
4.4mm Line Out: Shared with Phone output

E01
3.5mm No Line Out

E02
4.4mm Line Out: Dedicated

A02
3.5mm Line Out: Dedicated
4.4mm Line Out: Dedicated

R01
