Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP

That's how I understand it, because they cannot make many of that R01 anyway. As Andy said, less than 1000 globally.

BTW just saw the price of the Ti machine: 11988 RMB ($1800).
A02 all over again :-) . This 1000 limit is simple to fix, just buy more resistors (and the other components obviously) when the first batch are used. Its not like it won't be priced high enough to make a profit on every unit made and sold.

Their resistors are from a special order from a Taiwan factory and have already delayed for many months to deliver this to them.

ooooo... that sounds nice.... How much for the combo I wonder? If the R2R Board is not available on its own I hope they dont turn around and then offer it sepatately.... that would annoy quite a few people.

Just chimed in when Bluestorm1992 advised of the price. Seems about the right pricing for this compared to others. Question is now.... P6 Pro or N6iiTi with R2R?

If the N6ii Ti is even half as good as the P6 Pro SQ wise it’s worth it to me for the far more stable UI alone.

I know I read that too. Its still simple to fix, if the first 1000 units sell like hot cakes then order more resistors, wait for 10,16, 99 or whatever weeks for them to be delivered and then make more modules, no reason to not sell the module by itself. Unless of course the factory making the resistors in Taiwan burns down then it may be a bit trickier. :-)

I think by then, N6ii will be too old a machine. But, I think you have a point here, and Cayin could do this R2R in their next generation of the Andriod DAP!

Sorry, let me correct myself. R01 still available for a separate sale, just without the Ti chassis.

Noticed that the N6ii Ti is raw Titanium in colour...but the R2R Board is in Black. Does this mean the Combo will have a Black R2R Board or the same colour as the Ti unit?

If you buy the Ti machine, then the R01 board is also with that Ti chassis. You can separately buy the R01 motherboard, which will come with that black chassis like all the others.

BTW, the price of R01 alone is announced: 3998 RMB ($600).

The SRP of N6ii Titanium Limited Edition is US$1899, SRP of R01 is US$619. Both item will be available by early June 2021.

The R01 is the final Audio Motherboard in N6ii family. However we are working on a new product to continue the Audio Motherboard concept. It is something completely new to Cayin so probably will take some time before we can deliver it to the market.

Detail of N6ii-R2R Titanium Limited Edition will be provided later (TBC ....)

i wonder how the LO is implemented?
R01 is headphone output only Audio Motherboard, it does not offer Line Out feature.

So... A Black Board in a raw Titanium coloured body... Not that much of an issue to me but one would have thought that Cayin would at least match the colour with their new Ti N6ii DAP as a special Version.
There is the flip side obviously, if the Board was Ti coloured then all the original N6ii owners would have a Ti colored Board in their Black N6ii's.
Just my colour matching OCD coming in to play here 😁
