Headfonia said in a review up to 24/88 tidal mqa
I’m not up to date with the tecky stuff but on my dap some songs say 96 and a few say 88 when they are master tracks.

I am not even sure if tidal master go beyond 24/96!

It may be that n6ii unfolds just to that limit that tidal offers.

Need to check online on tidal what they state for frequency limits on master tracks.

I never heard Tidal’s MQA, but I do own a few MQA albums mainly downloaded from highresaudio. When I play them on N6ii and it only does the first unfold, the sound is worse in a noticeable way. I was comparing it with the full unfold (which yields 352/24 audio file) performed by 1Z.

Thats hilarious 1z is the oldest dap and can do full unfold naughty!

I personally hate all conversations and use wav's only! Direct baby straight pipe and all foot down the floor! 🙃🤑😏

We go max speed and quality 😃😄

It was done with something that only a few mortals can own on this planet 😏

The all mighty Tia Fourte Noir with symbio eartips and pw1960

What an excellent looking combo of gear. I would love to try one of the PW1960 cables on my U18t and Cayiin N6ii. I have just added the E01 board to go with the A01 board that was packaged with my Dap. I've had the Cayiin around 3 weeks now and love it.

The build and quality of the overall package is excellent. The smooth sound of the A01 Dac board with it's AK4497EQ is a great contrast with the E01 and its Ess 9038pro chipset. I have always been a big fan of the Ess Sabre chipsets with their brighter tilt. I have though gained a new appreciation for the AK sound too.

Yes with n6ii what great is that you have the opportunity to try all the best dacs and can be balanced or Se it all works amazing!

Me to I like this little dap and just got the E02 amp as I am a big fan of pentaconn jack 🙂
Burn is in effect soon will be able to give some feedback but from the short 5 min of listen I can sense already how bad ass is the E02! It better then T01!

I think it makes the 1st unfold, at least

@ayanamireiiz

96k on N6ii, 192k on DX220.

I think I was getting 192k on the A&K daps as opposed to 96k on the N6ii. I never got to experience 352k though. I think that the Cayin N8 has full MQA, but doesn’t have streaming.

How do you find the sound difference between 192k on the DX220 compared to the 96k on the N6ii?

I haven't found any 352k. If you find one let us know.

Sorry I haven't done any critical comparison with the same tracks in DX220 vs N6ii. It's hard enough to recalibrate my head for the different presentations of the devices and then somehow get down to 192 vs 96. Maybe when I get E02, the comparison might be easier... I don't know.

I can say that for the way I use Tidal (for music discovery, looking up, just being nostalgic, etc), listening on N6ii has not been a problem. I hardly ever use Tidal for critical listening.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse lol. But from what I’m reading and possibly purposely interpreting is that you don’t notice any immediate drop off in sound quality with Tidal. Lol ....... I’m thinking about upgrading from my M11

Ha! I went from M11 -> DX220 -> N6ii and sold M11 and even SP1000. For sound and usability, I’m very happy with N6ii. I don’t know about M11pro and you might want to proceed with caution if you are married to M11 UI. :)

My opinion is that my FLAC files that I own always seem to sound better than the same song on Tidal. Your miles may vary :)

Not really married to the UI of the M11. I do enjoy it but I usually go straight to Tidal anyway. Then most of my music is side loaded to the SD card. But now I’m a bit sad that you said the SQ doesn’t sound the same ... it’s almost a wash of buying it if the SQ doesn’t surpass the M11 😢

I think the m11, or should I say all Fiio products except maybe the M15, sound quite flat.

I too am a Pentaconn fan. Though I have mostly used either 3.5mm se or 2.5mm balanced cables as my previous Dap was the Pioneer XDP-300r. The 4.4mm Pentaconn has a much better build and doesn't feel as flimsy as the 2.5mm.

I would like to try the E02 myself but feel it may be too much like the E01 to warrant me buying it aswell. I look forward to your impressio s of the E02.
