Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP

I cant charge my n6ii. What's going on? I knew that it doesnt work on samsung charger so, i connect direct to my desktop but still doesnt work. Like it is now 0%. I dont know how to charge it anymore.

edit: ok, it starts charging now after i leave it for awhile connected to my desktop. This will take tons of time to charge i think...

You need to have a proper charger connected to a wall socket. The N6ii's battery is huge. Of course it will take forever if you're only feeding it from a computer's USB port.

Again the best chargin perf is from the MacBook USB-C charger (respect USB 3.0 protocol so the charger adapts to the max input the N6ii can take), it’s really the fastest you’ll get and super convenient if you own a Mac... I’ll need to time it but it was really quick... quick charging speed for sure.

Really good things to know, thanks for clearing it up for us.

For me coming from wm1z to am01 I miss some soundstage and treble extension, and some bass details. I still think wm1z is a superior dap sound wise over amp a01. Soon I will test the t01! And I am really impatient to find out all these new improvements and nuances maybe t01 will bring to new heights and n6ii t01 will be on par with 1z :)

And soon E01 to kill it all and be the new champ.

So far I really like a01 its a very inventive and pleasant sound. And yes warm musical and thick!
A01 , SE , with a good amp .

I wondering how dx228 sound wise is vs n6ii? Is it more reference neutral? Less warm?

Let me know what you think after you bought it.

I dont think that I will do that, I had tried dx200 before and was let down with disappointment. N6ii is way much better to my preferences.

So I was just wondering what the new one was like ) I am sure it follows the same sq path as dx200...

Not much of an improvement. Dx220 better screen , slight sound improvement.

Yes more neutral less warm, but not night vs day. Amp8 module has power and is excellent with warmer headphones in my opinion.

Its very subjective when we say not night and day...
It could be not much for some.
But for me it could be a no no :)

N6ii is the first dap I really loved after my wm1z, it was really hard for me to find a dap that has my criterias...
N6ii pretty much has them all and awaiting for new amps to trie!

Thanks for the insight of dx220, for me ibasso sound was always like neutral reference direction and harsh cold treble timber . Didnt like that

This was true for the DX200 with Amp1. It got better and better with every amp. By the time you get to DX220 with Amp1Mk2, it's a whole new device. Neutral warm. Nothing harsh, bright, or cold about it. Then you add the NuTubes of Amp9, and it's warmer than N6ii A01, and utterly analogue in tone.

Indeed. I prefer the N6ii.

I just wanted to clarify how out of date his information was. Current iBasso is nothing like old iBasso. And I suspect he would really enjoy it. More than the N6ii? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the listener. I'm fortunate enough to have both the N6ii and DX229, and I love both dearly.
