Makes we want to turn it off after 20mins . I had the same with R6Pro. This is my second go with N6ii and I love it with T01. This is my choice till i hear E01.

Don't know really, i'm thinking distortion in upper mids, reminds me of a loud clock radio type sound

All I can tell you is that's not been my experience. A01 is awesomely smooth and natural to my ears.

Maybe i'll open open up an A01 when a few appear in for sales, see if I can improve for my situation. It shares the same 4 x opa1622 as the T01 otherwise i'd be looking at them as they can be sometimes harsh unless they are impemented differently?

Maybe you have a defective A01. I'm not hearing anything like that with my A01. Cayin is pretty good about swapping out bad units. I had a bad USB board in my iDAC-6 MK2 and Cayin sent me a new one post haste.
