Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Apr 23, 2019 at 10:28 AM Post #181 of 8,192
Edit: did it turn on without any module installed??
Perhaps the A02 'audio motherboard' could just be a blanking plate for folks who just want a good streaming/playing transport :D

Of course, the N6ii would have to be offered with that and NOT an A01 at time of purchase.

More updates, basically I post whatever I can translated/compile during my vacation. :beerchug:

Note:
  1. Bluetooth: SBC and LDAC (Receiver mode) will be added through subsequent firmware update
  2. Direct Transport Audio (DTA) bypass Sample Rate Conversion (SRC) of Android system completed, all music playback (local and streaming) from all applications will be directed to DSP and DAC directly without resampling.
  3. I2S digital out is implemented through HDMI Type C (aka Mini HDMI) connector, when connected to an I2S equipped DAC, N6ii can output PCM upto 32Bit/384kHz and DSD64/128/256
  4. When operated as USB Audio Out (USB Digital Transport), N6ii can output PCM upto 32Bit/384kHz and DSD64/128/256 in Native, DoP and D2P mode
  5. When operated as USB Audio In (USB DAC), N6ii can decode decode PCM upto 32Bit/384kHz and DSD64/128/256 in Native and DoP mode
  6. Cayin has embedded the S/PDIF bitstream into the SBU pins (Sideband use) of USB Type C connector, with appropriate coaxial digital cable, N6ii can output PCM upto 24Bit/384kHz and 64/128 in DoP mode

Additional Information about A01 Audio Motherboard

The A01 Motherboard is designed around the AKM flagship AK4497EQ DAC chipset. To make sure the premium DAC chipsets will operate in optimum condition, we have employed THREE extremely low-noise high-precision Femtosecond Crystal Oscillators (45.1584MHz, 49.152MHz, 100MHz). High precision low jitter digital transmission is the base of high quality digital playback. It is how we deliver a natural, non-digital and musical playback to subsequent audio circuit.

It is fully optimized for fully differential amplification, and the final headphone output stage employs 4 pieced of OPA1622 in parallel amplification configuration. This will increase the output current capability and lower the output impedance. In practical, these improvements will translate into better control, ability to sustain a heavier loading, and drive most portable headphones with ease and offers lots of headroom.

MORE updates tomorrow, make sure you come back, something very IMPORTANT will be available tomorrow noon (GMT +8) :beerchug:

Hello AndyKong. Can you pls create or post a chart comparing Cayin n8 and Cayin N6 II to we can see the differences between them?

I do not see this as his job. If you want to compile one and share it we can all sing your praises.

The most frequently asked question about N6ii so far :
The Suggested Retail Price of N6ii (with A01 Audio Motherboard bundled) is US$1,199

The specification are as follows:

N6ii Spec Product.JPG
N6ii Spec Phone.JPG
N6ii Spec Line Out.JPG
N6ii Spec Digital Interface.JPG
N6ii Spec Music Format.JPG

I'll rewrite the Post #1 later today, if you have following all the updates recently, there isn't anything new, but I'll do that to make it easier for new comers. :beerchug:

Looking the the dimensions and weight this looks to be as bulky if not bulkier than the DX200 :frowning2:

N6ii dimensions and weight
121*70*21, 290g

DX200 dimensions and weight
128.5*69*19.5, 240g

Edit : Its basically a lighter and slightly shorter N8

N8 dimensions and weight
128*70*21, 380g

530mW @32Ω with 4.4 mm PO!! :astonished::heart_eyes:
DX200 with amp 8 (4.4mm balanced module) does 6.2 vrms for comparison.

Thats 6.2 x 6.2/32 = 1.2 Watts /1200mW @ 32Ω

A little overkill if you ask me

I would prefer longer battery life but some may want more power.
