I was very happy using it as a usb DAC also.
The whole unit is well done.

I actually ran it via line out to a portatube, which is my favorite portable amp, and other than done coloring (warmth from tube really) I saw no advantage to running the amp regarding sq.
Alternatively with other daps I have heard a marked improvement in sq.

From end to end this thing is a beast

I'm glad we share the same sentiments...I think this great all-rounder has moved the bar higher for the competition....and especially those original makers

that charged prices so high only because they could....this year feels like a changing of the guard for sure!

Since N6 requires MicroSD cards above 32GB to be reformatted from exFat to FAT32, would reformatting to FAT32 actually limit the data transfer rates of the card? If so that means cards that do data transfer rates of up to something like 48MB/s are sufficient, no need for faster Pro series for playing DSD128 files and above? I only know of the FAT32 4GB size limit and exFat has a more efficient write operation and don't know much about technicalities

Hmm I had no issues with my exfat 128gb card. Only needed fat32 for firmware updates.

Has anyone tried the n6 with hifiman he500s? Searched and cannot find any references.

I have, it can drive the HE500 plenty loud with good mids and highs, but I found the bass to be lacking compared to desktop setups. Then again, I wasn't expecting any DAPs to be able to drive the HE500s, so the N6 did surprisingly well here.
