Yes exactly. This thread died out rather quickly. I'm sure the site overhaul in all its glory didn't help, but still....

Hahaha!

I think the new site slowed a lot if not all the threads. Good thing is it's improving.

This thread is here so you can ask questions and soon get news about the many new products that are getting very near ready for new homes. :beerchug:

We'll have more to say about the spark very soon.

As for the small board with green wires mentioned above somewhere, it is actually the heater regulator. I didn't like the original regulator so I hacked this one on right before the show. It is now part of the next rev board.

The phase splitter is under the two beige relays at the back right of the board near the RCA inputs.

When does very soon end?

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I was hoping we might hear something from runeight before then. Specs and pictures of the final product would be cool.

I think we'll wait on Alex for specs but I can send pics of the new design long before the 60-90 days in fact I hope we'll be showing pics of the slightly revised new Liquid Tungsten at the Los Angeles Audio show June 2-4

Cool, thanks for the answer!

From the prototypes I've read about, the Crimson mini is going to be balanced. Looking at the pics of the internals, it looks like it was only going to accept balanced inputs. Do you know if that will be the final case or will it also accept regular RCA? I'm really interested in it and want to use it balanced out (4pin XLR), but my DAC has only RCA output. So if it only has balanced inputs, then I'll either need a new DAC or think about a different amp.

Nevermind...knowing that the Platinum is in fact the new "Crimson-mini", I was able to search for the info. From runeight:

"The platinum has selectable either Bal (XLR) or SE (RCA) much like the carbon."

So excited for this to come out!

Hahahaha the Platinum does share some characteristics with the Crimson but it isn't really close enough to be referred in the way you are referring to it. That was just Warren coming up with "skunkworks" names since there was no names for them at that point.

I've been told that until it's chassis and a few other details are worked out it's difficult to know exactly. It's been target priced around the $1499 - $1699 USD

Let's hope for the best

That's fair enough. keep it coming though
