Last CanJam, ZMF offered a 15% show discount. Don't know about any others tho...Do vendors who are at the show typically offer any discounts vs. their regular retail prices?
There will be show discounts and I guess the information will be published here and if not then also you can shamelessly ask manufacturers for the discount at the table as well. You will get good deals trust me if you ask.Do vendors who are at the show typically offer any discounts vs. their regular retail prices?

Yes, many will purchase gear at CanJam. I have not witnessed others trade gear, but I would imagine that might be set up in advance of attending. But it is mainly for manufacturers and shops to sell gear.Kind of a dumb question, but do people trade or buy gear at CanJams?
Like, is it a common thing or is it frowned upon?
I know people will buy gear from vendors. I'm talking about show goers buying gear or trading gear with each other.Yes, many will purchase gear at CanJam. It happens. I’ve seen classified posts where it’s noted someone will be at CanJam and the exchange can take place there.Kind of a dumb question, but do people trade or buy gear at CanJams?

Thanks @kumar402 and @ericrosenfield! I just had back surgery so I'm not sure if I'm going to be fully back on my feet by then to make it to the show (it's a month, so fingers crossed), and I've really been wanting to purchase an Atrium. There will be show discounts and I guess the information will be published here and if not then also you can shamelessly ask manufacturers for the discount at the table as well. ended up buying the tickets and the flight thx for the push; do people usually stay at the venue hotel or it's fine booking elsewhere closeYes - just do it.

Staying at the Marriott is very convenient, and means not having to worry about possibly inclement weather, but there are a lot of excellent hotels in the vicinity. When I attended a couple years ago, I stayed at the Iroquois, about three blocks from the venue. Nice, quiet, stylish, older hotel, although the room wasn't huge.ended up buying the tickets and the flight thx for the push; do people usually stay at the venue hotel or it's fine booking elsewhere close
