Campfire - Solaris

Yes, you are right, the legt one, be from a different manufacturer.
While the left is the campfire marshmallow foam.
Lefty actually takes longer to return to its original shape

Hmm I’m really not sure what that right one is then. I’ve put a few of the ones I have below. From left to right: campfire marshmallow, blackbird foam, Dekoni, Tenmak. Complys look quite a bit different because they are a lot bigger and more porous and obviously the Symbio foams are orange.

I guess you hit the bull's eye straight away.
I am convinced that it is the Blackbird S30.

I ordered a few straight away.
Because I actually like the s30 much better than the ++.
Voices have a lot more emotions with the s30. while the treble seems much more controlled.
They are very good for the price and I prefer them to the campfires! I stockpiled some from hifiheadphones haha. The Tenmaks are also very and cheap on Amazon.

On a related note, I feel like I am enjoying my Solaris 2020 far more out of the standard 3.5mm output than balanced. I guess my mileage must vary out of the balanced outputs!

Has anyone yet directly compared the CFA Solaris (any variety) with the AK Solars X?

Similar experience with vega. Probably balanced is too much for iems?

Anyone found a real good cable recommendation for Solaris SE?

Anyone found a real good cable recommendation for Solaris SE?
The 8 wire PW Audio Loki made it absolutely SIIING... it also really played to the attributes of what the Solaris is known for e.g. holography, made imaging sharper. It also noticeably increased detail retrieval and the sense of air to me while shifting bass emphasis slightly towards the sub-bass while keeping the naturalness of a copper based cable. The 4 wire Loki was also good but it seemed to emphasis upper mids more and you lost some of the sound staging properties.

No problem! It’s not the cheapest cable (not the most expensive either by a long shot) so it might be worth seeing what others prescribe too… but from my experience it was the best pairing I had tried with the Solaris (and the SE). Other cables I tried that didn’t reach the level of the Loki include the Effect Audio Lionheart and Eros II, Plussound SPC, Plussound pure copper, campfire audio pure silver.

Thanks again, Tristy. After reading your first post, I called Andrew @ MusicTeck and ordered a 8 conductor PW Loki, MMCX and 4.4. Might take a while to get it since he had to order it.

Ahh Im glad I could be of help and I hope you aren’t disappointed! I certainly wasn’t. Please post impressions here once you’ve had some time with it on your Solaris, I’m sure others will be wondering the same as an upgrade.

Has anyone tried AK Kann Alpha yet? Currently, my Solaris LE is paired with AK SE100.
I'm wondering to upgrade my DAP, but i wanna know how these pair well? is there any issues on hiss?

I don't have any hiss on the Alpha with 2020 or OG. Haven't tested the 2.5 only use the 4.4 and 3.5. I personally love the pairing, its more neutral than the Cowon P2 I use. The sound signature will probably be similar to what you are used to with the SE100.

Plus one on zero hiss with the 2020, I felt it revealed a bit more detail too. The Alpha while sounding great does have WiFi drop outs and has quite a few issues which have not been addressed by AK. Think it's been discontinued so they've basically bailed out on the product.
