Campfire - Solaris

I have the X1X and PS4 also :)
Yea but there's something different about playing on PC. 120Hz 1440p Ultrawide is just the best for gaming.
I have the PS4 Pro but rarely ever switch it on.

Enough OT I guess :p

Gonna build a brand new pc before cyberpunk 2077 comes out.
Need 4k 60fps for that one.

I seem to remember reading that KB stated that of the three Andromeda was the lightest, S heaviest and Solaris somewhere in between

I wonder why...is the chrome plating really that heavy? The S and the green ones are basically the same inside?

S is stainless steel. The Standard Andros are aluminum housing. I have the S version. Its not that heavy to me. They fit awsome for my medium sized ears. No fit issues or weight issues at all.

Which tips do you use? And do you use the stock memory cable? I'm concerned they'd fall out due to the weight?

For all the qualities of the CL2, the Solaris is more along the lines of my prefered signature and also I believe it's more consistent as @seamon points out it's a real strength. The CL2 upper mids is both a strength and a liability.

Now I need to get a listen :)

How would you compare these to the Phantom so far? Bass extension? Vocals?

How do these fare with electronic music ?

Still debating with myself on which IEM I should get. Granted that I value a bass (clean, fast, detailed) that wouldnt bleed over mids.
I'm leaning towards Vega atm, Atlas seems too difficult with the fitting and I fear that Solaris might be too big for my small ears too .. I also had the Xelento in mind (can get it around 800€ new) or the Hyla CE-5 but I'm concerned with Japanese customer support

Can't tell for the Solaris, but Vega is just gorgeous with electronic music. Just listened the album you mentioned and it was a pleasure.

I am kinda worried with others impressions about "quality not quantity" bass of the Solaris.

The bass is nothing like the Vega. It's very, very good. I prefer it in every way for any genre over the Vega.
What? Really? How would you compare to the Atlas bass if you've heard it? I too primarily listen to electronic music of all sorts and I'm in love with the Atlas.

I've been getting a little worried as well about bass impressions from the early Solaris crowd.

Solaris is very bass light. Except for that it has everything else you would expect good bass to have - speed, texture, layering, control

100+ posts to catch up on from last night!

Twister 100 hours impressions on page 37

And Seamon first impressions on page 38 are both spot on.

I am enjoying reading the first impressions etc.
—————————————

My initial out of the box impressions lacked the wow factor I had from when I listened to Kens well used pair.
But as i listen every 24 or 48 hours (I have not been listening every day- helps to track changes) I can hear it changing and moving more towards that first listen.

Out of the box they are great, get some hours on them and they mature and become excellent.

——————————————

Still tip rolling, trying to find the tight combination of sound and fit.

Today I will probably do some cable surgery and remove the memory wire from the 4.4mm cable.

And hopefully do a final sort through of the unboxing photos.
