best I heard Solaris was on a wm1a with wm1z firmware. Awesome pairing, that extra lushness and thickness from the wm1z sound just added even more body and gravitas, not that Solaris needs it mind you

Agree, the Solaris OG is best on that combo with a pure OCC silver cable like the DHC Clone Silver. With the Solaris 2020 I prefer the Clone Fusion on that combo.

I just picked up a second pair of Solaris 2020s for office use and I noticed that they sound and look different from the one directly from Campfire.

The TAC insert is a salmon pink instead of black and they honestly do not sound good. Has anyone else seen one of these versions? The machining lines are almost identical between my known good sample (the one with the cable and the Final tip) and the ones with the pink chamber but there is notable difference in sound. Should I send them to CA for repair? I don't have a reason to doubt the seller who got these from head fi, we're both interested in answers.

Did he provide you with a receipt? Can’t say I’ve ever seen one with a chamber that’s that colour

You gotta be careful with 2nd hand Solaris and Andromedas. Known fact that they are duped on aliexpress as with Beyer and Sennheiser IEMS

I recently caught a guy trying to sell a Nordost cable, guy wanted $16K or something like that. Which is fine n all. But too bad you can buy the exact same cables from Aliexpress for $40. I messaged the moderators about that one and that got quickly resolved.

Unless folks can provide all the original accessories, ( dupes do not have the original accessories, sometimes a very similar cable will be provided but usually comes with no original case and no original tips) and even better, a reciept. Be very careful about buying a known IEM from the sales threads.

Does anyone have any first hand impressions of the 2020 vs. Stellar Horizon?

Of all the IEMs I've bought and sold, Solaris 2020 is my biggest (and only) regret. I tried Stellar Horizon at CanJam Chicago and liked it, but didn't get much time with it.

I've heard people say they prefer the OG to the 2020 as well, but I haven't had the pleasure to try the OG.

I bought the Solaris 2020 and had the older ones but sold to a friend as the size was a deal breaker as I couldn’t get a good fit along with I felt the 2020 sounded better, most likely due to a better seal fit. I planned on selling 1 or 2 Campfire Audio IEMs as I don’t listen to most of what I have to my Focal Clear Mg. I‘ve been torn between the Solaris 2020 and my beloved Andromeda Golds, I’m planning on keeping my Solaris 2020. As to the pink salmon vs black inset I checked mine and they’re black and sound great, bought mine from headphones.com as they’re an authorized dealer for Campfire Audio. I generally only buy from Bloom Audio or Headphones.com due to making sure I don’t get knockoffs.

I would tell you to have a look at the Campfire Pathfinder, it’s better than Solaris 2020 in terms of clarity and punch, and even has better bass + slam than the Stellar Horizon.

And spoiler alert, I have one for sale, only because I have an endgame iem that I’m selling.
