I did notice a weird phenomenon on the Fiio M1 Pro though... when I switched to high gain... it opens up the treble more. It's not from being louder either because I compensate for the volume level prior to switching by lowering it from 55 to 45. Very weird.

Yeah that is strange. Can the high/low gain affect the impedance?

@Lookout57 I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts when your 2020 arrives as I know you’ve got the Walkman and TA-ZH1ES

I feel SE does a little better on every frequencies but differences are so subtle that cannot tell unless you try real hard.
Other than that..these two IEMs sound so similar so no point in keeping both. I rather keep the SE for its sophistication
in delivery in terms of sound but ergonomic is such an important factor for me, so for difference as minor as this I would
go with 2020. I bought the 2020 out of sheer curiosity but if you don't have any fit issue with SE, I would recommend
bypassing 2020.

I really don't know and if so I doubt on a DAP that it would be a big change in OI.
Are you using single ended or balanced output? I know on my M15 single ended OI is around 1.4 and balanced is I believe 3.3 in non Over ear mode.

My love for the SE sound has only improved in the time since I've had it and its this sense of being satisfied to the core in a way that I wasn't with OG, and to have this sustained for months, often up against some of the best IEMs out there, has me convinced that subtle improvements can often have a massive impact only fully realized in good time.

My Solaris does not have driver flex, but it does seem different in size compared to the one I tried earlier.

I was talking about the Legend X when I said that...I don't get driver flex with Solaris.
