I think they pair best with LPGT. Neutral color of DAP lets Solaris shine.

The WM1Z loves the Solaris too...gold sees Gold ;)

N8 I have only used briefly.

I keep on coming back to this thread like a moth to a flame.

Anyway, we can all agree on great music, or so I hope.
Here's a great cover of a great song - from the 80's. The Flac version sounds great on the Solaris.

We're asking once more to please keep the discussion on-topic and off one another. Further personal comments in the thread may result in additional moderation steps, which we would prefer to avoid. Please, we're in this thread to talk about the Solaris, not to take shots at each other. Let's focus on the gear and the music. Thanks everyone.

Photo reposts.

Ken Balls choice of music for me when I first heard the demo Solaris using his Sony WM1Z.

He likes foamies.

Winter in Japan.
Turned off heater to not mess up sound and room temp went from 75 degrees to 35 in 26 minutes.
TL/DW, Love it.

Wow.. Never heard a bass like this before (Takin it to the street).

Thanks man.... Nice, informative and friendly review....
I was dropping a Message about your impression of Solaris with X5iii, just curious thought..

It's a crystal clear bass intro with the pulls and resonating strings. Love it as a song but as a bass check it has become my favorite. The bass guitar is playing role of lead guitar which is not that common. Slow simple pulls and plucks.

I have been running everything 4.4 balanced but I will try with X5III :)

This is what a review of IEM should be done, OK and the previous one from sagebeard too.
Bloody good one. Thanks.

Re: kinks in the cable, let it hang and heat it up with hair dryer, it will straighten up. Well that's what I've read.

can u try coldplay - fix you, and tell me what you think
To me I think the intro is a good example of showing the 3-D capabilities of the Solaris. I can hear the the Leslie speaker spinning in my head.

However Chris Martin's vocals are harsh and could use to be de-essed and the highs need to be toned down.

I had my Solaris connected to a NW-WM1Z using a balanced Effect Eros II+ 8 wire cable. The track was converted from AIFF 192/24 to FLAC 192/24 using XiSRC at its highest (slowest) compression setting of 8.

I would like to apologize to everyone on this thread, for the part that I played in the back and forth of the last few weeks.
I am passionate about my music, and can sometimes lose myself and overstep boundaries when I feel like other people are not being fair.
Agendas or no agendas, most of us are here to talk about music, and hold conversations with other people that are similarly moved by this passion of ours.
God knows there are not many of us out there. Friends and family don't understand :) what it feels like to listen to a piece of music that leaves you stunned and unable to move.
We are all a community, and I would love to still be here in the coming years, and be able to share my experiences in this journey with every single one of you.
Hopefully we can all move forward and celebrate the coming New Year, not with animosity in our hearts, but the joy of being appreciative of what we have, and where we are.
Hope every single one of you has a very Happy New year!!!! Don't drink and drive :(
