Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

I’ve gotten so used to IEMs that are analytical and detailed. Clear vocals, treble and tight bass. However, listening to these IEMs can put stress on your mind after prolonged listening (requires too much focus). Too energetic and lively. Great for the mornings. Not so great for a long day after work or before bed.
I like IEMs with analytical sounding as well. I like the good details.

The Nova are the opposite of that. You don’t need to “think” while listening to it. Just “experience” the music and let your mind drift. In fact, the more you try to think and concentrate on the music, the worse these IEM will sound. These are great IEMs to listen to while doing something else. Its sound signature is velvet, liquid gold level-like smoothness. Just hit play and let your mind drift and get sucked into the music. Almost like a state of comatose.
I am currently using Nova and it entertaining me well. I find a little lack of space and air at the treble - it just rolls off too much for me and I am thinking to sell it away and get something better in treble. Nonetheless Nova is a good IEM for people who appreciate vocal!

BTW is it possible to improve Nova treble with a change of cable?

Yes! A pure silver cable brings the treble out but imo, the stock cable sounds the best with it.

A pure silver cable with the Andro actually sounds pretty good. You lose some soundstage but everything across the entire frequency becomes clearer and more resolving. Decay is minimal.

Anyone know of tips that have a better seal than the stock marshmallow tips?

The nozzle of the Andromeda is rather short so it’s hard to get a deep seal. Comply T500 fits but makes everything dark and more muffled (still sounds ok). The ideal tip would be one that keeps the same sound signature of the stock marshmallow tips but longer tip to compensate for the short nozzle...

Symbio W is the best tips for Andromeda to my ear canal. It expands the soundstage while retaining all that sparkly treble more than any other tips.

The orange tip really POPS with the green andromeda from the pictures I’ve seen on here too so that can’t hurt

Have you tried with them the Andromeda? The nozzle on the Andromeda is 5.3mm at its thinest and 6.3mm at its widest, so the CP155's 5.5mm bore might not be very snug and they could come off when removing them from your ears.

The CP100 that's included with the Andromeda has a 3.8mm bore in comparison. I'm currently using the CP240 which has a 4mm bore.

I'm curious to try the CP155, but don't want to risk it unless other people have found they're snug enough to stay on the nozzle.

Congrats! I don't think you'll regret getting the Andromeda. Try them with various DAPs just to find the best sound out of them. My unusual ears tell me that my iPod 6th gen with tweaked settings for best music playback performance makes the Andromeda sound godly

You need a DAP with low output impedance (<1 Ohm) for the Andromeda otherwise the bass will go away and the treble will become peaky. I've tried the iBasso DX90 and Sony WM1A and both sound good.

You donating those to the head fi member art museum?

Haha no. I'm just taking a picture from my iphone 6S using bokeh mode app: better than a real DSLR IMO.
