Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

JVC Spiral Dots on the Andromeda for me.

I alternate between the symbio wide and spiral dots. Both are excellent with the Andro.

Well, looks like I'm finally going to bite the bullet and order some spiral dots. Do they sound fuller than the provided spinfits?

Also, anyone able to recommend where to buy as well as how the sizes compare to spinfit/comply? I usually use S in one ear and M in the other (weird ears :( ) - it's frustrating that there isn't a variety pack (afaik). Thanks!

I'm surprised more people aren't jumping on the custom tips you can get from ALO. They're obviously more expensive then universals, but custom tips are really nice. No more trying 20 different brands and sizes.
I agree! I think they’re $250 not including impressions.
The best part is you can take them off and use them on other CA IEMs and maybe other brands as well since buying a couple sizes of spiral dots because there are no variety packs (please correct me if I am wrong) and symbio tips to find the proper fit which I ha e trouble with with my Lyra II are like $13-$20 each size.
If you get 3 sizes of sprial dots and 3 sizes of symbio tips at $15 each that’s $90 just in 2 different types of tips.

I would try CA customs tips but I am in the process of losing weight (I lost 20 pounds and going for 20 more to reach my 190 pound goal) otherwise I would get them once I find some Andromedas at the right price

I do like the Andro sound signature with the Symbio W tips, but does anyone else find them (the foam) too hard? They make my ears hurt after about an hour of use. Most comfortable tips for me were comply T400 but they made the Andros sound too muffled for my taste. I keep returning to the provided spinfits for the comfort (though they definitely sound thinner than the Symbio or Comply tips).

Giving the spinfit CP155 another shot right now - they're a little loose on the nozzle and slip off too easily, but I'm liking the comfort at the moment.
I agree with you, I find the medium Symbios too big and the small ones too small.

Hm, having owned the Atlas and Andromeda, they’re actually quite different from each other and offer what the other doesn’t:

Atlas
- perfect for rock and music with a present sub-bass and drums (ex: Arctic Monkeys, QotSA)
- raw, emotional, immersive and live experience

Andromeda
- perfect for music with a lot of instruments, end to end extension, layering and separation (ex: Radiohead)
- balanced, easy going, spacious and smooth presentation

Imo, basically Atlas is what you listen to if you want to imagine yourself live at the concert. Andromeda is what you listen to if you want a picture perfect presentation (almost holographic).

ah, purple tray, r u @DMA? how do you find the just ears? have a listen to the VE8s they split the difference between the two nicely methinks.

:grinning: Yeah, I was at DMA.

I like it!

Since I have a stronger preference for V shape sound signatures. Both Listening and Club are right up my alley. I really enjoyed the spacious and detailed sound.

It won't replace my Andromeda though, however it will be good complimentary set of in-ears for the Campfires.

The Andromeda is here for the long haul. :grinning:

I do hope pricing remains close to the Taiwanese retail price. I will be snagging one for myself if it does.

I have been looking for a used pair of Andromedas or Noble Kaiser 10 and maybe the Westone W60/W80 on the classifieds here.

Has anyone who owns the Andromedas have any experience with one of the others have any advice on the sound signature differences (strengths/weaknesses) I would appreciate it.

I own a couple CA products and love the quality so I always wanted the Andromedas to compliment my Lyra II and cascades but it seems all the ones in the classifieds here at a good price get scooped up before me (and I check almost every day)

Unfortunately I can't help with the comparisons, but B-stock Andromedas (both white and green) are on sale on ALO's warehouse deals website right now if you're still looking.

Thanks. I’m checking it out right now. Do you know what’s up with the white ones? I never seen those before. Is it something messed up with the green so they dipped them in white? (It is not nearly as nice as the green but a bit cheaper)

LOL White ones were made expressly for their dealer in Hong Kong as limited edition, they are also given the creakote surface treatment which made them less likely to chip.
