I guess the reason people have different thoughts on grado is grado is more focus on mids and treble, most people can accept bassy headphone but trebby headphone is not for everyone.

Good point - it's just a shame that most opinions are so divisive -
combination Senn' and Grado lovers are not all that common, most
tend to express allegiance to either house but not both.
 
For me, I've had the HD 201 and HD 515 which disappointed me so greatly,
neither deserve the Sennheiser name on the box. On the other hand, I like the
HD 598 and 650 although admittedly they require a decent rig to get the best
out of them.
 
As for the SR80i's - Some opinions change over time, but this one for me
never will, for the money ($138AUD) - 
 
I will never spend so little and get so much back in return from a headphone.

Got my sr325is yesterday and LOVE them! I am still wondering why I didn't impressed by them last time.

its now in a beautiful grey finish, so nice.
