Both AK240 and AK120II are awesome. But I prefer the AK240 than AK120II, so I plan to sold my AK120II...

Do you own both or just bought the 120ii and decided to upgrade?

So, how do you rate these DAPs?

AK items I currently own - My order of preferences:

1.) RWAK240 - Wider sound and refined all round
2.) AK120II - In my experience same as AK240 for non DSD
3.) RWAK120 (Titan) - Warm and very special
4.) RWAK100II - Great value - very elegant design
5.) RWAK100 (Silver) and AK100MKII - Classics - Put AK on the Map (so I have a soft spot for them)

Ha, I don't think someone needs both of them, because they are close. If you have enough budget, Ak240 is better. If not, you can buy AK120II.  the only reason for me probably is I have 5 earphones.

But 5 earphones are not the reason to get 2 DAPs? Is it?

You plan to sold it, contact people (me) to sell it, and instantly change your mind and don't sell it anymore. You need to clean your act, here.

I planed to sold one of my DAP a few days ago, but I finally decided to buy a new headphone to use outside. So I still need it, cause I don't want always switch different headphones or earphones on the DAP . I know it's a special, but it's mine custom.

So I went from a DX50 to this AK100II and I will say that it is definitely a step up in sound quality for me. However, the biggest upgrade was the device's ease of use and UI. Much better than the DX50 by far, and it properly recognizes all the metadata for my AIFF files.

The DX50 is great for $200, but I really prefer this AK100II. Happy listening :)

I bought my AK100II this past Thursday, and loving the amazing sound through my Oppo PM-1 headphones ,it gives me the chills listening, I can't even begin to imagine how better a AK120II let alone the 240 sounds, IAM Very happy with my setup and don't plan on getting any of the other 2 models,$2,100.00 is perfect budget for my setup..

Hi there,
Still undecided between rwak240 and rwak 120 II. I could not find any comparison between those two !
but I might get the rwak 240 in the end (even if I do not plan to use DSD so much) as I like the form factor (strangely enough).

Are there any good deal for stock AK240 out there ? I tried to get to iriver shop to enquire about their deal twice(ultimate ears + ak240 + dock) which is advertised on their site, but they never replied to me !
Too bad I do not need UE headphones (I use the fitear 334 and I am very happy with them) ! But still (assuming I can resell them, I also get the dock and a balanced cable). But again this is buying extra stuff I do not really need. Let me know if you hear of AK240 deal (which I would send directly to red wine for modification).

Cheers !

I was just thinking about this combo yesterday. I'm really curious because I see this as an ideal portable setup for me; plus I really enjoy planar headphones. Hopefully in the future I can get a chance to try them out with my AK100II. I also want to try it the AKG K812 also, that is a spectacular set of headphones.
