How come your battery is dead?
To put the files on my AK100 II I use MediaMonkey it also put them in directories and processes your iTunes if you would like it to.
As it knows where you files are I think it will also rewrite the playlists correctly.
Works great for me.
Maybe give it a try? (it is free)
Hope it can help,
Casper

Coz he forgot to charge it?Not a bad situation to have the AK120ii as the backup!![]()

I have been listening the AK100ii for almost 2 days and I notice that there is alot more bass than Hugo, Pico slim & Dacport (1ohm). My first reaction was to turn off the EQ but was surprise that the EQ is already off.. ha! Its quite bass heavy for a DAP like adding an extra db to the sub bass. Its sound very good.. If there is any lacking, it will be the vocal is not forward enough like Hugo or Daport (1 ohm), the vocal sound alittle further away. Treble extend very well and a hair more so than Hugo but is on par with Dacport. Hugo is more analog sounding while AK100ii more digital (like daport). I wish the sound stage is a tad wider.
Anyone find any similarity to these findings?
I love the design.. superb.
Edit: I am using SE846
Will report when I burn in more.. maybe too new to come to any conclusion.
Is the 100ii a good enough back up or should one go with the 120ii? Just curious!
Jim
I think that's very much depends on how much you want to spend.
[Warning: 2nd hand information from someone who is an avid AK modder]
The AK120II have a lot in common with the AK240 circuitry-wise. Only a certain (unmentioned) components are not in the AK120II. I'm presuming this is related to DSD stream input & DSD Serial clock.
I'd guess that these two players would sound similar in PCM, which then would make it a rather viable backup.
