I use my AK100II with Headstage Arrow 5tx.
Perfect combo.

Nice looking set! Is that the JDS Labs interconnect?

Not quite perfect. It's not balanced. :)

I'm going to have a hard time going single-ended after this setup. Balanced has changed my world.

Guys, I have a weird issue with my AK120 II.
After startup I get a message saying "SD card safely removed", but the card is actually still in the slot.
If I open the scroll down menu from the main screen, at the bottom I see the same message...

Is that normal?[/quote

I totally agreed with you that they should remove this message in their recent updates. I am also thought that the card is not properly inserted. Its confusing when I need to remove the card, does it me that I am safe now to remove the card?

The buyer seems very happy with it.. I'm hattppy with my UERM, and with the 120ll it's just a great pairing.

You can get better treble extension and wider soundstage if you rip your CD using JRiver to DSF 2.8 or 5.6.I noticed a huge improvement with AK120II balanced out to SE846 with your moulded blue filter.

Why would you rip a CD to anything other than it's native 16bit 44.1KHz PCM? You can't add anything that isn't already there.

I agree with you here, although it is possible that the software is producing some sort of SQ change similar to what an equalizer might do.  Don't know for sure.  Otherwise, you can't upsample to a higher rez.

can anyone recommend me a neutral sounding, closed back over ear with replaceable cables? price up to 850€
source will be 120ii

Oppo PM-3 is fairly neutral. I feel they are little bass light with the overall presentation being neutral. I like them, they are not my favorite portable, but fit what youare asking.

You can't go UP in sound quality, only DOWN.  All you do is make a much bigger container for your 16/44.  Maybe the software is doing something, as said above, but if you are hearing differences, it's not because of some sort of magical rise in sound quality from the original 16/44 the CD is encoded with.

There are a few HiRe download like HiFi Track and HD Track using upsampling to CDA files and stating that SQ is improved. I did notice that high frequency has increased to the
extent of not harsh.
