An interesting issue.  I too am concerned with the leverage being applied to the 2.5 output on my 120ii. I have two phones recabled with 2.5 balanced, and both of them have the straight plugs.  I really want to find the DIY part form this Ultimate Ears cable, with the 90 degree bend :

I bought a right-angle cable for strain relief of the 3.5mm jack on my AK100ii. But now the plug pivots a lot in the jack. Will this wear down the jack and cause connection issues in the future?

There should be no reason it will wear down the jack or cause issues but where the problem comes in, is with the leverage that is accidentally applied. With the leverage as we know, the socket can be damaged, either by the actual socket being broken or the tabs that are soldered to the PCB, can break loose, which is what most always happens. This is the one weak link of all portable devices though some are much more at risk than others, depending upon how the socket is supported internally. The contact on the inside of the socket and the plug are both smooth so the wear over a long time, should be minimal.

All the attachments I make I run at right angle. As you mention and especially with the 2.5mm, the leverage of a straight in can be extreme. Break a 2.5 off in the socket and you are in for a pain. I have no idea why they had to choose the 2.5, a horrible idea, but it is what we have. The 3.5 socket is not that much larger and is small as I would have ever gone not only for strength but also for sonic reasons. I was lucky to find a 2.5mm that has no steel center pin as most all 2.5 plugs, by necessity have the steel center pin for strength and steel isn't a good audio component when used in the signal path.

That cable looks well-made.  Do you mind telling me where you bought it?  Thank you.

why not build one yourself, you will get it fraction of cost and fun of doing it.

I'm using Roxanne with AK100II and the pairing is very good for my taste.
If you're in Singapore, you can always drop by at Jaben to try their demo JH16 with AK100II.

If you already have JH16, can always visit Stereo, E1, Song Brothers, Connect IT, Jaben, etc to try it with their AK100II

Not a bad price, considering the price you have invested in the DAP.

Especially when most places are selling just the Oyaide right-angle plug for $15-$20.....
