He begins to speak of the "linearity" (but not in the sense of neutrality) of the T1 and says that the T1 "brings more light into the treble" . He speaks of "weights" in the frequency response. That there aren't any "exaggerations of weight" and that there is no "overweight" in one of the frequency areas at all. It reminds him a bit of the K1000 but without wanting to say that the T1 sounds like a K1000, just that the distribution of "weight" (yeah, I know) "leans" towards the K1000's distribution.

About the Question "what headphone T1 sounds like"

I find very different impressions....
M00h says compare DT880/600, T1 more close DT770/600

This Japanese site says T1 "somehow like DT990"
フジヤエービック主催「秋ã®ãƒ˜ãƒƒãƒ‰ãƒ ›ãƒ³ç¥*2009ã€:趣味空間:So-netブãƒ*ã‚°

This Hong Kong Headphone fan says T1 like "80s' DT880"

Grrrr....I am confused .

Sorry guys i'm not often view head-fi's tread.

Simple impression From First Link,Equipment is Tascam CD-200i
>A1>T1

1.Frequency range very wide, maybe the widest headphone he ever heard.
(this guy is HD800&SR007 user)
2.Beyer style "Ambience" and "Airly", but no harsh nor Sibilant problem.
3.Somehow like DT990
4.Very enjoyable headphone.

From second link ,Equipment is Audiolabs 8000 CDE > A1 > T1

1.Vocal very Good, especially female vocal.
2.Fullness、Musically、Richness
3.Soundstage more forward and "3D"
4.Like old 80s' DT880, Mid-bass better than other beyer headphone ,
Has the "Definition" of Hi-end class headphone.
5.Not hard to driver.

Don't be. First impressions, especially trade show impressions, are usually filled with some fantasy and typically some comments about the sound signature are not at all representative of what the headphone actually sounds like. When they were only at shows, somebody said the HD800 sounds a lot like the HD650 and the D7000 sounds totally different from the D5000.

Once people actually receive them we'll get some more accurate reports. Since Skylab has multiple Beyers we'll get a trustworthy review of which Beyer the T1 resembles.

In fact, i consider HD800 very similar to HD650. lol

This is T1's concept picture from IFA

This is T1's Driver from Toyko headphone festival

I guess the engineers of beyer slightly changed the driver's structure .

I never said that.
What I said is that it's sound is closer to the DT770/600 then to my 2003 DT880. Especially in the mids.
I also said before that the T1 has more Bass then the other two.
So it could lead to the perception that it is closer to a DT990. But I can't comment on this as I haven't A/B'd a DT990 with the T1.

Then again, what I have heard was a prototype. So it is possible that they changed the sound signature again in the time passed since IFA although I thinks that's highly improbable.

Sorry M00h, I fixed my post.

Another impression in Japanese.
試è´è¨˜éŒ²ï½ï½”11/14:弦音:So-netブãƒ*ã‚°

1.Slightly more bass amount than DT880pro, but not as much as DT990pro , speed very fast.

2.Treble not very "funny". (errr... My japanese not very good, i guess this refers to "lack some character" )

3.Sound Stage is big, but somehow too "Position in front of" , he not very like this kind of "sound stage" .

And he continues write:If i want this "position in front of", Just use Speakers, why headphone?

4.Because of that treble , T1 sounds slightly boring.

The more impression i read, the more confuse in my mind.

Indeed those "first impression" not very accurate or believable, but in the case of T1
that's seems something very different.

One side says T1 has sweet mid, punch bass , very "enjoyable" .
One side says T1 is not "funny", accord to that lotusblüte guy, even more neutral & accurate than HD800 , and both side use A1 to driver.......

I don't think this is just because different source.

Anyway.....still waiting the chance to hear T1 . Maybe 2010? (sigh)

Yeah the highs are lacking some sort of character or interest for him.

Dammit I can't wait to get a listen to these.

Hello, one of my trusted friend heard T1 today,He is a long-term user of DT880'03, a newbie user of Grado PS1000

He says

1.T1/A1 combo's sound is good, but not good enough .
A1 is truly a limiter to T1.

2.The T1/A1' combo's major problem is bass: muddy, slowly , So he can't review this "bass" too much......just guess T1's bass is close DT880pro.

3.Vocal very good! sweet&natural, just like "Super" ver. DT880'03.

4.Treble is amazing, close DT48,but not narrow,
spacious、 transparency、airiness and power.

5.T1 is very "beyer-ish" headphone. If you are big beyer fan,
Just to hear it if you can.

In fact after shortly listen, if not buy PSK at first, he would place the order.

6.Although the M902/PSK combo's sound is better than A1/T1 combo, he believe T1 & PSK is the same class headphone, just different style.

Hmmm.....so A1 is not the answer of T1,

Seems not many people look this thread.....

Ok, My another trusted friend report his view of T1,not heard too long, 15min i guess
He borrowed the Grace M902& SPL auditor to test.

In grace M902, He find the muddy & slow bass is fixed, sound very good,

but when connect to SPL auditor, T1 show something really different.

He says

1.Compare DT990'05 (in auditor), T1's headstage slight narrow
, but location much more accurate.

2.T1 has the special ability to reconstructed every different "stage" in different records, big is big, small is small, forward is forward, laid back is laid back......everything been placed in it's location ,very accurate, in compare DT990 sometimes make all "stage" too huge or big.

3.After-all......T1 is very enjoyable headphone.

In different amps(A1, M902, Auditor) , T1 sound just "enjoyable", but you still can tell the different.
