First impressions out of the box is that they have more details than HD650, bigger soundstage, better instrument separation and better, more 3D holographic imaging, a little light on the bass right now and impact is weak. Imaging is a little "strange" and sounds like music is behind of me, i suppose this is because of no burn-in was done to the drivers. However I see a big potential in this headphone, even in this stage they blow my recabled HD650 away in allmost every aspect.
Will post more impressions after 30, 50 and 100 hours of burn-in

PS: it sounds so smooth, which i really like, zero sibilance or harshness, very easy to listen

DarKu,
I see u have a number of good amps. (I just bought an Opera today myself). Maybe u can also offer an opinion on which amps work best with the T1?
Thanks

@ XLR1 - I previously was an 100% SolidState guy, until i heard for the first time a good NOS DAC with a tube output stage, after that everything was changed

Right now i preffer Tube amps (good ones) with all headphones, i do not recommend cheap tube amps for this type of heaphone, I heard once Little Dot MKII and it was poor, very poor compared even to my iBasso i had in that time.
Corda Opera was a very good SS amp, however in stock configuration i find it to have a pretty low gain, especialy for 600 Ohm headphones. If you like a little more drive, you will put T1 in high gain, max out the volume and still you would like a little more, this happened to me many times with DT880 600 Ohm version. Jan can mod it for you for a higher gain. I suggest to try it out for yourself with T1, and see if you have enough gain for it. Opera was a good amp, and frankly it's sound is very close to tube sound, it's on a warm side, without sibilance or shrillness, good one but i will prefer a higher gain. Opera also was a bad match with Grados, i dont know why, but it just doesnt sound right with Grados (i see you have them in your profile). As good as Opera is, my curent tube amp (WA6SE) outclasses it in about every aspect IMO, be it low or high imp headphones, most noticeable area was "heaviness", "meatiness" of the sound, sweetness, airyness and coherence, with a better flow and more 3D sound.
I do not chase the last bit of detail that SS DACs and Amps provide, i do not seak this anymore, right now i really like to be enveloped in my music, to "flow" with my music.
I believe i found what i was looking for

I hope i was clear enough

After 320 hours of burn-in the T1 are still changing fo rhte good but I agree with ast, I still prefer the HD800 a little bit more (not by much).
I also agree with DarKu regarding the "strange" presentation. I don't know what it is and I have been struggling to pin point it but to me the soundstage presentation compared to the HD800 is clearly different.

I found the bass impact to be bang on perfect. I found the HD650's slightly coloured and this way. It does improve with burn in.

FWIW, the bass impact is more substantial than the HD800s and IMO exactly where I would like it to be.

I'm using a lovely WA6SE, as I said in my previous post.

Listened yesterday some Beatles in stereo and Paranoid album of Black Sabbath, i was enveloped in the music, awesome HP's! They do rock nicely

I am still surprised on how these neutral T1s can sound so good with rock!

How are the T1s for Metal? I'm considering a flagship headphone and am tossing up between the T1, the HD800 and the PS1000, all recabled.

What I'm looking for essentially is all of the strengths of my 650s and none of the weaknesses.

One word, the T1s are: Brilliant (with metal).

I really enjoy the HD800s, but they are not as good with metal as the T1s.

With regards to the PS1000, I'm not a fan for rock/hard rock/metal. I prefer the RS1/RS1i.

I own the T1 and the HD800 the T1 has the stock cable re-terminated to balanced and the HD800 is recabled and balanced. For Metal I agree with Macedonianhero. The T1 is the way to go. I love my HD800 but they are too polite for Metal music.

Excellent comment, "too polite" for metal. Bang on description.
